FX on Tuesday morning teased The Full Monty, as in an eight-part follow-up to the 1997 BAFTA Award-winning movie that will stream this June exclusively on Hulu.
Check out the first photos above and below.
Set 25 years after the original British film, the series follows the same band of brothers as they navigate the post-industrial city of Sheffield and society’s crumbling healthcare, education and employment sectors.
As it does so, the dramedy promises to “uncover what happened to the gang after they put their kit back on, exploring their brighter, sillier and more desperate moments. It will also highlight how the fiercely funny world of these working-class heroes — still residing in Sheffield — has changed in the intervening decades.”
Among those reprising their film roles are Robert Carlyle (Once Upon a Time) as Gaz, Mark Addy (Game of Thrones) as Dave, Lesley Sharp (Before We Die) as Jean, Hugo Speer (Shadow and Bone) as Guy, Paul Barber (The Dumping Ground) as Horse, Steve Huison (The Royle Family) as Lomper, Wim Snape (Gentleman Jack) as Nathan and Tom Wilkinson (Michael Clayton) as Gerald.
The new cast includes Talitha Wing (Alex Rider), as Gaz’s teenage daughter, Destiny; Paul Clayton (The Crown) as Lomper’s husband Dennis; Miles Jupp as Darren, a recent divorcee and housing officer who looks up to the Monty men for advice on navigating adult life; Sophie Stanton as Hetty, a colleague and friend of Jean’s; and Phillip Rhys Chaudhary (Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists) as Dilip, Deputy Headteacher at the school.
Additionally, Tupele Dorgu plays Destiny’s mother Yaz, Dominic Sharkey and Natalie Davies play Destiny’s mates, Arnold Oceng plays a talented graffiti artist, and Aiden Cook plays wise-cracking 12-year-old Dean/Twiglet.
