Whose death will Ghosts delve into? Does Shawn Spencer see a Psych 4 in your future? Is Criminal Minds flashing back to that? Read on for answers to those questions plus scoop on many other shows. (You can and should email any brand-new Qs to InsideLine@tvline.com.)
On Ghosts, we’ve learned how six of the eight main ghosts have died, except Hetty and Sas (unless I completely missed something!). Will we learn the source of their deaths this season? –Brenda
I got your excellent Q in front of showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, who wrote back, “While we won’t learn how everyone died this season, we can tell you that we will learn a lot about Alberta’s murder — including who did it and why….” (That was their dramatic ellipse, BTW.)
Any scoop on Criminal Minds: Evolution? –loredraws
The opening act of this season’s penultimate episode, out Thursday, is INSANE with the ratcheted-up tension. And if you thought Rossi coming face-to-face with Elias’ wife was a cliffhanger, wait until you see where this episode takes you — and then leaves you. P.S. Also, be on the lookout for no fewer than three team member flashbacks, including one to a certain February 2022 meal…. (That was my dramatic ellipse.)
Fans online are speculating that a fourth Psych movie is going to be announced. Are you hearing anything? –Mel
You mean, Psych 4: A Million Little Shawns? I asked franchise co-star/writer James Roday Rodriguez for a status report when I saw him at TCA, and he reported that “the appetite is there on both sides, which is good, so I think it’s just a matter of, you know, semantics and scheduling. There’s nobody that doesn’t want it to happen. And there is a script, which is also an important element. So, I think it’s just a matter of when, not if. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later, just because you never want people to forget how much they love you. But a little bit of time is always good, too!”

There’s no timetable yet for Season 4, but it looks like it might be a bit angelic, as teased at the very end of last August’s finale — though the divine beings might get an Evil spin to them. “The interest of the show is to try to keep things scary, funny, dramatic and emotional,” showrunner Robert King told us, “and the problem you have with the divine is often that it’s not as dramatic or not as horrifying as the satanic — until you read the Bible and see how terrifying angels are.” Referring to the season-ending book flip (above and at right), King shared, “The last word out of that angel’s mouth was hope, and then that seemed kind of corny and we dropped it. But I do think that our idea is to try to find a way to balance the horrifying with the more hopeful.”Will we ever see OA’s sister Amira again on FBI? The last time she made an appearance was in Season 1 and we haven’t heard much about her since. –Megan
“Nothing is currently in the works, but it’s possible we could meet Amira again down the line,” showrunner Rick Eid tells Inside Line. “We’re always looking for ways to get deeper insight into our characters’ personal lives and what drives them, and OA’s family is certainly very important to him.” -
Image Credit: Courtesy of The CW Have you heard anything about The Flash, Superman & Lois or Gotham Knights? –Jo
I have not heard anything about The Flash; rather, I have seen the final season’s entire first episode (airing Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 8/7c), with my own two eyes, and it is one of the best #WestAllen episodes in a while. There is a medium-sized list of things I am not allowed to tease, but I can tell you to watch for a brief pillow fight, lotsa shirtless Barry, and an “Ooh, did I hear that correctly?” name-drop from another Arrowverse series. Is there any scoop on what Iris’ arc will be in this final season of The Flash? –Bea
There’s a big, likely hint in the season premiere, but the exact nature of it is on the “Do Not Reveal” list I mentioned above.Did Abbott Elementary write Melissa’s aide Ashley (played by Keyla Monterroso Mejia) out of the show? Besides a mention in the episode where Ava subs for Janine, she has not made any appearances show since the Halloween episode. –Joe
Fear not, you will see Ashley again this season! -
Image Credit: NBC Will we see more flashbacks of La Brea‘s Gavin and Eve? –Cari
I ran your question by Natalie Zea, and the answer sounds like a no. “I don’t know that we will,” Zea said (having already finished filming Season 2, mind you). “In very La Brea fashion, this second half is going to be full steam ahead, gangbusters, racing from moment to moment,” and thus won’t have time to glance back at The Way They Were. Please tell me the name of the actor who played Mr. Laetner in The Rookie Season 5, Episode 14. (He was the man whose wife was kidnapped.) –CM
Deon Laetner was played by… Assaf Cohen, whose previous guest spots include Magnum P.I., 9-1-1 and This Is Us.Is there anything you can share about the possibility of Home Economics returning for a fourth season at ABC? –Tasha
What we can share is that…. if Home Economics sees a fourth season, don’t be surprised if the “other woman” in Tom and Marina’s marriage turns up in the flesh. Co-showrunner John Aboud told TVLine that he’s well aware that “fans want to meet Katie, the barista at the coffee shop who was giving Tom the free muffins,” adding that even he’s curious to know, “What is her deal?”Do YOU want scoop on a favorite show?
