The Bachelorette's Fantasy Suites Turn Bitter — Will Gabby Go Home Alone?

Warning: This post contains spoilers from Monday's The Bachelorette.

It's fantasy suites week on The Bachelorette — and as Rachel points out, "this is the point, when we were on Clayton's season, when everything went haywire." Foreshadowing alert!

Rachel and Gabby each bring their three final guys to Mexico to see who'll make it through to the finale, and though Gabby wants her and her guys to "chase each other around naked," she knows she needs to get serious, too. Rachel admits she's gun-shy about sharing her feelings after what she went through with Clayton — hey, thanks again, Clayton! — and she has issues with each of her three men: She feels like Tino's parents hate her, Zach is perfect on paper but "I don't think I'm there with Zach" and she is falling for Aven but is too scared to tell him that yet. Gabby, meanwhile, doesn't know how Jason feels about her, and she's not sure Johnny is ready to get engaged. She and Erich have both said they're "falling in love" with each other (which, on a Bachelor show, apparently means you really like someone, but you're still into other people)... but she also ominously notes that feelings "can definitely change."

So who said the actual words "I love you"? Who went home? And which Bachelorette is scared she might end up with no one? Read on for our full recap of Monday's episode, and then hit the comments below to share your thoughts and predictions.

Gabby and Erich

Gabby says she and Erich got a lot closer on their hometown date — she met his dad, who is battling cancer — and she's giddy to see him. They go to a secluded cove and take a "lover's leap" together into the water. (P.S. Gabby's bikini bottom is so revealing, they can't even show it on network TV.) She's scared to dive off the highest platform, but Erich reassures her, and they end up jumping together.

At dinner, they're all kissy and lovey-dovey... and this is really looking like a final-two couple to us. Erich takes a plunge of his own, upping the ante and telling her: "I am in love with you, Gabby, and I don't want to leave here without you." She just sticks to "falling in love" for now, but they both give a quick "yes" to the fantasy suite invite, with Gabby saying she wants them to "feel each other's love." In the morning, they're both giggly, but he admits "it sucks" that she still has two other guys left. She reveals in a confessional she is in love with him but wants to "save it for the right moment." OK, but don't wait too long!

Rachel and Aven

While Rachel and Aven enjoy lounging on a yacht and rubbing each other with sunscreen, Tino is having his own little meltdown about her seeing other guys. He even consults with Jesse, saying he's struggling while admitting his dad was tough on her. Back on the yacht, Rachel gushes to Aven about how welcome his parents made her feel. Yeah, that's a plus! Tino stews and tells Jesse if he didn't care so much, this would be an "easy week to walk away from."

Rachel and Aven eat dinner together on the beach, and she's looking forward to having "that intimate time" with him so they can explore "that physical connection." (Yep, we get it.) She presses him on if he's really ready to get engaged in two weeks, and he says he is, and she explains how much saying the L-word means to her... but she does say she's falling in love with him! She and Aven head to the fantasy suite as literal and metaphorical fireworks go off, and the next morning, Rachel says she's "on a different level with him right now." So Erich and Aven are getting the final roses, right? Well, not so fast...

Rachel and Tino

After an "excruciating" wait — God, it must be such a burden to sit around in a luxury hotel all day for free — Tino finally gets his time with Rachel, and they ride horses together before sitting down for a heart-to-heart. Rachel admits she's been feeling some "anxiety," but she doesn't really tell him why. She reveals in a confessional that all she wanted from their hometown date was "acceptance," and she didn't get that from his family.

At dinner, he inquires further about her anxiety, and she brings up his family not liking her. She says her dad said he wouldn't accept it if they got engaged... and Tino is sweating bullets like Nixon at a televised debate. He says his family is probably just "skeptical," but "I know they're going to come around. End of story." He goes the extra mile and tells her, "I love you, Rachel" — and she says, "I love you, too!" Well, then! The actual L-word comes out! They eagerly go up to the fantasy suite together... and we're not so sure anymore about Aven's chances.

Gabby and Johnny

Gabby says she had a great time with Erich, but she's looking forward to having fun with Johnny — which doesn't sound promising for him. They ride on a sailboat together and sip Champagne, giggling and making out, and Johnny calls her "the dopest girl I've ever hung with." This guy is a future Bachelor in Paradise contestant if we ever saw one. She sees a future with Johnny, but she needs to know he sees it, too. As they sit on the beach, he gives her the old As Good as It Gets line ("You make me want to be a better man"), but when she asks if he's ready to get engaged? "That's a hard thing to think about," he tells her. "It's like a battle in my head."

She says she's ready for a serious commitment, but he's not so sure. So she takes a minute and walks down the beach alone, muttering that she doesn't want to have to ask him to love her. Which is understandable! She comes back and tells him she can't spend the night with him if he's not sure about her. Johnny says that "life with you would be... insane" (dear God), but "I just don't know if I can get to an engagement in the next week or so." Welp, at least he's honest. They both tell each other how amazing they are, blah blah blah, but this is goodbye. Johnny leaves wishing he could give Gabby what she needs. See ya in Paradise, dude!

Gabby feels secure that she can find love with Erich and Jason — but we see Jason tell Jesse that, as far as falling in love with Gabby goes, he's "not quite there just yet." He's taking it day by day, but right now, "it's hard for me to get to the point of engagement." Uh-oh.

Gabby and Erich (again)

Gabby gets a mysterious note slipped under the door of her hotel room that reads: "I need to see you. I'll be waiting on the bridge..." She's understandably creeped out, but when she gets there, it's just Erich, who says he just wanted to see her. Ah, OK. However! Erich decides to spoil the mood by telling her that when he pictures her going on other fantasy suite dates, "it kind of crushes me." Gabby's face falls, and the mood completely changes. She says they talked about this already off-camera, with Erich telling her that he felt like this week was "cheating" (!), but now he's bringing it up again. She's feeling "pressured" and wonders what she has to do to prove herself to him. Erich tries to apologize, but it's too late. Gabby feels like he's testing her, and that's "not something you do to someone that you love." She starts to spiral, worrying that she might not have anyone when this is all over: "This feels like the end for me."

The preview for Tuesday's episode — that's right, we've got two solid nights of The Bachelorette this week — promises lots of tears and heartbreak, with Zach telling Jesse that after his fantasy suite date with Rachel, "everything did a 180... I felt blindsided." (Huh?) Erich fumes while Gabby goes on her fantasy date with Jason... but then Jason tells her, "I don't fully feel like I know who you are." (Hell of a time to bring that up, buddy.) Jesse tells Rachel that Gabby isn't showing up and she's now the only Bachelorette, as Gabby sobs: "Am I too broken for anyone to love?" Oof... double the Bachelorettes, double the tears, we guess.
