Killer Cakes: Watch Matthew Lillard And Danielle Harris React To Baked Goods' Bodily Fluids In New Trailer
The world of baking competition series is about to get a deliciously gory twist: Matthew Lillard (Scream) and Danielle Harris (the Halloween franchise) are slicing up some Killer Cakes in a two-part Prime Video special that's set to drop Tuesday, Oct. 8.
Created by horror maestros Blumhouse Television and baking pros High Noon Entertainment (Cake Boss), Killer Cakes is "a one-of-a-kind competition show where bakers with terrifying skills attempt to win some of the most frightening challenges ever produced for television," according to the official description. "Contestants will work with the best horror special effects artists in Hollywood to unleash their twisted imaginations and create cakes so disgusting, so disturbing and so realistic, it's the stuff of nightmares."
The special's trailer (watch it embedded above) serves as a disgusting appetizer of what horror fans can expect from the series. The creations are gory and hellish (with some even pushing the boundaries of nauseating), as crimson blood and green slime (vomit?) oozes from these hopefully delicious desserts.
Lillard will host the competition, while Harris and experimental artist/cookbook author Nikk Alcaraz serve as judges.
The participating contestants include:
Amanda Yother, Rathdrum, Idaho
Dillon Barlow, Houston
Dziedra "Z" Brusberg, Marysville, Wash.
Deadra "Dee" Compean, Beaumont, Texas
Eszter Summerlin, Gulf Breeze, Fla.
Jesse Lesser, Dallas
Mark Lie, Chicago
Shanelle Long, Pensacola, Fla.
Ruth Amsel (Cake Wars) is the showrunner, with Jason Blum, Gretchen Palek, Scott Feeley and Lillard on board as executive producers.
