What brings back Jackie after so long an absence?
TVLine hears that after another person is murdered with all the earmarks of serial killer Dr. Leonard Walker (who was played in a February episode by Mather Zickel), Danny and Baez find themselves teaming up with Jackie — now a Chief of Police, an eagle-eyed TVLine reader notes! — to find out who is behind the slayings.
Elsewhere in the hour, Eddie and Jamie’s investigation into a repeat offender leads them to learn that Erin recently prosecuted him for a harassment charge, and Frank once again goes up against Mayor Chase (returning guest star Dylan Walsh) after he announces that he’s empowering the NYPD to take EDP and homeless people off the street, with help from Archbishop Kearns (Stacy Keach).

Me too, but wasn’t Nicky at onetime wanted it to be a cop? Whatever happened with that? And what about Danny and Baez romance? What’s going on between them? The last time I’ve checked the writers was trying to get a romance for Danny which was a bad idea for the writers to do that just it was a bad idea for the writers to bring in a new romance for Olivia Benson or Elliot Stabler instead of trying to get Elliot and Olivia together romantically. So I sure hope that the writers get Danny and Baez together romantically instead of sending other people to romance them.
Nicky changed her mind about being a cop & took a job with a tech Co in CA…& I hope Baez & Danny never get together, they have no chemistry!

They have plenty chemistry. I just feel like the writers of the show don’t want to have a interracial relationship on the show. They think that their only fans are what Nielson ratings show. 55 and older. Nielson s are not in the majority of actual viewers home’s. If he’s not with Linda then dam Skippy. Reagan and Baez
Danny did have a date with a detective from his house later on, Lauren Acosta. And she looked to be Afro Latina.
I agree Mo. Baez knows how to handle Danny’s quirks, his temper, and they have plenty chemistry. As does Olivia Benson and Stabler.The writers need to use that chemistry and make their writing match the chemistry
In Season 11 episode 9 Danny and Maria basically agreed to just be friends. This was the episode where a guy she’d started dating ended up dead in her front yard. Maria later tells Danny at the hospital that she didn’t know why she never told him she was seeing someone and whenever she thought about telling him she felt awkward. Danny admitted he was also feeling awkward around her and they agree that maybe that is enough for now. So to me it sounded like they were putting any possible relationship on hold and focusing on being partners instead.
Well, maybe that is for the best since they work so well as partners. It isn’t all bad to show some affection to a partner you work with as long as it is the affection that shows caring and sympathy not in a sexual manner.
Great News!! Wonderful to see these two come back, even if it just for the season finale!
Interesting to note that TVLine are not highlighting the fact that Three, not two people are returning for the finale.
They mention that Nicky can be seen in the family dinner picture after a long absence, but also seen in the same photo is Danny’s elder son, who was off at college and who hasn’t been seen for a long time as well.
Not so much “interesting” as “a bit less noteworthy,” since he appeared just last season. But a note has been added! Welcome back, Jack.
I love Jennifer Esposito in everything she’s in, So glad she’ll be back and that we’ll see Nicky too.

It will be great to see Nicky back at the family table but I wish Joe was there also. I’m a big fan of his character and his interaction with the other family members.

Why, bring in the character of Joe a family member and not bring him back the possibilities for his character are endless don’t like Nikki she always had more lines to say then Linda did maybe that’s why she left Nikki’s very opinionated. Bring back Joe he will sure bring in more interesting storylines
Totally agree! We need more Joe. And if Nicky never showed up again, I’d be more than happy. I always found her too opinionated & obnoxious.
I think there was a lot of chemistry with psychic and Danny. None with his partner. Was hoping that would develop. Glad to see the grandkids back at the dinner table….hopefully to also meet Joe. Hope when series ends a grandbaby will be on the way…and we all can believe family dinners will go on and on. Thank you for great TV.

I’ve been waiting for the four grandkids to meet, face to face. So far, Sean is the only one to meet Joe.
I’m hoping in season 14, they’ll all finally meet.

So happy ANDREW and SAMI will both be making an appearance. It’s been much too long since we’ve seen them. This is such a close-knit family but these vital members’ names are never mentioned. Glad to see them back, if only for a while. They have been missed. Gone but not forgotten by their fans!

Sounds like they were preparing for the possibility that it might not have been renewed, and got the kids back just in case. Jennifer Esposito’s return is a surprise, but a pleasant one–I had thought things weren’t on all that good of terms with her departure, but perhaps time has healed any of those wounds.
I would’ve been OK if it ended for good with Jackie & Danny a couple. 😝

I am going to love seeing both Jackie and Nicky! It sure would be nice to see more of Little Joe, it’s almost like he really isn’t a part of the family and is just an occasional friend.
We prefer Baez to become the romantic partner of Donny, not Jacky. The chemistry and fidelity we have seen on each episode between Baez and Donny is Unique. We are waiting for their first romantic kiss. Is about time the program takes a different turn. Jenko and Jamie have no chemistry together and they are BORING. But Donnie and Baez click together and we can’t wait till that first kiss..♥️🥰

I agree no chemistry between Denny’s and Baez. It was weird how she adopted a baby at the end of last season and we haven’t seen the baby at all this season. Jenko and Jamie need to get pregnant after Jamie’s brush with a bullet I think they are ok together but the writers have let them get a little boring like a married couple after the first few yrs. Need to bring more to the table for them.
I was hoping they would actually have Nicki become a rookie cop so we could get back into some of those stories.. they could kill off or retire one of the older (more expensive) actors and bring her in as a way to cut costs.
I’m sorry but I can’t believe Jennifer Esposito would return to Blue Bloods after the way she was let go from the program. Nicky returning after not being mentioned for a couple years is kind of ridiculous too. Her parents don’t even mention her. I have watched Blue Bloods since the beginning. I really think it’s time to end it. When the cast has to take a pay cut to keep the program on for one more season, it’s time to end it. CBS needs to cut expenses from Young Sheldon to keep Blue Bloods on.
I agree, Blue Bloods is so popular , not right for them to take a pay cut, maybe skip a raise in pay. Should lose some of the other shows that are a waste of ‘air’ time .

Would love to see Jackie back as a regular cast member her and Danny were good together. Also would love to see Erin drop out of the race for DA and go back to Jack they are great together. Will be fun to see Sami Gayle back loved their family dinners. Need more of Joe but not the sullen I have chip on my shoulder Joe. It isn’t the Regans fault he wasn’t raised around the family. Love the show and hope that the renewal for only half a season is not the beginning of the end.
Where did you read Season 14 was for a half a season? Thought the cuts were in the cast and productions pay checks!
No such thing has been reported; Law & Order: OC got a 13-episode renewal. Blue Bloods had cast pay cuts. –Mgmt.
I always thought Jennifer Esposito was wrongfully let go. Very pleased to see her appearance. I would like to see her as a regular.

This was the chance for Nicki and Jack to meet their cousin Joe, but looks like the photo of Sunday’s dinner does not include Joe. Dropped the ball on this opportunity for all he grand kids to meet.
I was hoping they would bring back Flex Alexander for a few episodes. He played Danny’s partner in the pilot episode. Could be a blast from the past along with Jennifer Esposito.

Glad they brought Jackie back finally. Seems any hard feelings from being let go have dissipated after over a decade away. As for Nikki and Jack, it’s too bad they didn’t find a way to get Joe there for dinner as well so we could see them meet him for the first time.
