DOWN AND 'DIRTY'
Picking up right where last week left off, Manny railed at Bode for his “dirty” drug test result. Bode of course argued that Sleeper had vowed revenge and thus somehow rigged the result, but Manny wasn’t hearing it. (Manny argued that Sleeper was now “behind bars,” but wasn’t he still at camp when they all peed…?) Manny asserted that the simplest answer is oftentimes the right one, and Bode truly tested positive.
Mel’s an idiot. Eve should forget about her, because she’s not worth it. When everyone finds out Bode lied, they’re all going to have some explaining to do. Except for Gabriella (who doesn’t believe him) and Freddie (who just looked shocked). And, maybe Jake. I sincerely hope Cara’s daughter isn’t Bode’s, though. That’s cliche.
my thoughts too, so cliche. but whats her not being sure who the daddy is, was she cheating on Bode? that’s the more interesting tea.
The only thing missing in that episode was Henry Winkler and his water skis.
Best show this season!! I just am so disappointed he went back to jail
Did Bode lie to cover for someone else
All explained in the recap abovewards.
Freddie release would have been stalled if Bode hadn’t “confessed”. hateful for Mel to but that decision on him without real proof. her case is flimsy! Bode martyring himself was a bit too much IMO. yea it helped Freddie, but what about Bode’s own family, what it did to his own Mom and Dad? loved the series but this ending was anything but satisfying for me.
Agreed it was ridiculous to have Bode confess especially when his mom is so sick. Also her comment of your killing me was horrendous. I think her case was flimsy and the only way she could get him removed from fire camp was to blackmail Bode into helping Freddy. Maybe sleeper owns her. It will be interesting to see how he ends up back at Three Rock since he’s back in prison.
Maybe that’s the end of the whole show as there is a prolonged script writers strike. How can the show go on when Bode is back in prison? This is the end and it’s a total failure.
I truly agree
Totally agree. That’s a bit too much.
I totally agree Donna! The ending was a real downer.
I didn’t like either. I just couldn’t believe Mannie. He was right there when Sleeper went in after Bode. I kinda knew the way that cop kept giving Bode that look as he walked Sleeper right by him. Then Sleeper’s comment about it wasn’t over.
Next season should be interesting.
His choices were basically Freddie would take the fall or bode so bode took the fall so Freddie could be with his daughter and girlfriend. That mel lady is horrible
Bode so Freddie would go free.
That was devastating!!!! So sad but I guess it’s encouragement to tune in next season
The finale I itself was ok but I absolutely HATED the finale moments! It was just ridiculous, even for Fire Country. Does this mean Season 2 is just a repeat of Bode in jail, getting back into 3 rock rinse n repeat…that’s been told already imo. It would have made more sense for him to be a ‘plant’ or something at fire camp.🤔 Sharon had his original statement right in front of her n didn’t even look at it for a few minutes, also Manny knows what it says.
I think they just didn’t know how to incothe fire camp I to the story with Bode and Freddy on the outside. Wrote themselves into a corner with that part.
I hope they resolve that part real quick, like 1st 2 episodes. Here’s to Season 2 though. Rooting for Bode being a dad, Vince n Sharon should be able to come through this as they’ve been theough worst. so not worried about that.
I understand the reasoning behind going full circle, but I don’t agree with it. It seems unnecessary, like just another way to keep Bode and Gabriella apart.
What BS THIS show’s ending ruined the whole season. I hate this!! No season 2 for me.
I am hesitant to watch the finale cuz I had a feeling after last weeks episode the direction this was going to go and since I’ve just read the recap I’m gonna call BS on this one. Bode can’t seem to get out of his own way, sacrificing for others when you have a chance at freedom is just plain stupid. The introduction of sleeper was ridiculous. The drama of the show are the fires. Stop making a simple show so freaking complicated.
After the season finale I’m done .
I have never been more aggravated by a season finale than this one. Horrible writing. Stupid plot “twists”. I call total BS and I am done with this show. Pretty sad cause it was really good until this episode. Don’t care what happens to any of them after this. No season 2 for me.
Absolutely the WORST final! Terrible writing!!! I will NOT be watching going forward!!
Same. The finale was horrible! Won’t get suckered into another season!
That ending made absolutely no sense. The argument is Bode was dealing drugs, even though he was the one who told everyone about the drugs at his camp, oh and apparently Freddie turned in their drug profits saying it was from the train job for some reason
Yes the writing to the finale just didn’t make any sense. If bode was doing something illegal why would he want everyone to get tested knowing he’d test positive. Gabriella doesn’t believe what he said. I think she’s going to keep going to 3 rock until she makes him confess the truth to her. Freddie is going to figure it out. But the mel lady was wrong to put bode in that position.
So sad he confessed to get his best friend out writer you should let them both out terrible final
I have to say I really don’t like storylines like this. Dragging out a situation in a way that makes no sense just for the sake of making it last longer. I find it irritating.
I don’t want to wait however many months for the next season. I have many questions about what happens next that need answers now.
Didn’t like the fact he goes back to jail. Won’t be watching any more until Bo is cleared or out.
Very disappointed in the finale! Absolutely ridiculous twist! Bodey going back to jail because he was railroaded into taking the blame for doing something he didn’t do was stupid!
“Railroaded” plus the bag of cash. Good pun.
And about him maybe being a father — you know Gabby will be prego from the one-night stand and will have to blame it on her diver buddy.
Man they really slap you in the face with savior Bode. I know he’s the main character and all, but if the show would stop treating him as the sun and focus on decent storylines for the other characters it would be a major improvement.
Completely agree but given that Max Theriot is one of the creators and executive producers of the show, seems unlikely to change. At this point, it’s pretty clear this is how they are going to write Bodie and those viewers like me who don’t like it will either have to make peace with it or find other stuff to watch.
Yes, they really need to back off Bode’s god complex. Sacrificing his own parole without even consulting the lawyer they said he had a right to use? Seriously? Any reasonable person would have stuck to the truth and then fought for Freddy from the outside if granted parole. I turned off the show as soon as Mel started blackmailing him, because I knew what the writers would have Bode do. It would actually have been a pleasant surprise to read the recap and find out the writers had not chosen the obvious outcome. Unless they resolve this issue within the first few minutes next fall (or whenever based on the strike), I’m out for Season 2.
Yup. I enjoy the show as a whole, but individual aspects such as Bode the Hero and too many soap opera dramatics in the stories make it challenging.
I like it will continue to watch
The finale it self was ok but I absolutely HATED the ending. Sending Bode back to prison, some how getting back to 3 Rock will just be a rinse n repeat of Season 1. I believe that they did it because they wrote themselves into a corner, if Bode and Freddie leaves 3 Rock there’s going to be difficulties building a story around the camp unless they do character developments of other inmates. That would have allowed us to see Bode and Freddy adjusting to life on the outside , Bode potentially being a father, Freddy adjusting to his new family while still checking on the guys at camp.
It would have made more sense if the investigator asked Bode to become a “plant” on the inside more than blackmailing him. Also, Sharon was standing right over Bode’s original statement and Manny read it previously. They were too quick to believe, he suddenly relapsed. Also, they’ve written Vince n Sharon as such a powerful couple that’s been through everything and come out on top, I don’t put anything on the little tense walk-out that Vince did.
Anyway, still will wait and see how Season 2 pans out, whenever that may be.
With the writer’s strike that’s going on, can we get an update on that please? How are negotiations going if at all? How are things looking?
“by the end of the season, we turn everything on its head. ”
I’m not sure the showrunner watches her own show. The twist is completely in character with Bodie the Martyr, who believes he’s responsible for everything bad that happens in the world and he must – MUST – take on everyone else’s sins because, well, who the heck knows. The show seems to think Bodie is noble and selfless; I think he is irritating and exasperating.
So disappointed in that finale. I figured that Bode wouldn’t get parole (because if he did what are you going to do in Season2?) but still this was an awful ending to what was a great first season.
Bode the hero, every dang episode. It’s to repetitive and has made the show uneventful. I really hope this changes next season.
I hate the way the season ended. Bode could be such a good firefighter, not a prisoner. Bad ending!!
The show needed to put Jake and Eve in prison and clear Bode and Freddy. That would have mixed up the dynamic and kept things interesting. Instead you have an innocent person taking the fall so another innocent person can get out. Bad writing. This show is gonna end in season 2 because the audience is gonna get bored and leave. I am already bored and judging by the comment section I am not the only one. Sloppy writing.
Don’t even bother making season 2 I’m out. I think this may have been the worst writing for tv I have ever seen.
Jumping the shark doesn’t even begin to describe this epic failure.
Every single episode this season was fantastic… except this horse caca
Loved this show all season – until tonight. This was bull and I really doubt I will watch season two.
Wrote themselves into a corner, first Bode is a snitch and back in the joint they get shanked. Doesn’t matter who you did it too. Snitches are silenced.
Second, no story line now (has been minimal so far) without the main character in the middle of his supporting cast(hard to do from prison. Bad form, writers.
I can set aside the sometimes comical cgi fire but WOW the Fire Country season finale was like the most intentionally stupidly “written” TV show I have ever watched. I am out. It is off my list of shows I watch.
Can I insert the fonz jumping a shark? Cause they just jumped the shark.
Big time jumped the shark. No way Bode can get out of prison without getting shanked for snitching. Talk about ruining a decent first season with that trash ending.
Same loved the show and feel so ripped off. What a terrible ending to a really good show. I’m out. So ridiculous.
