Now that’s what we call a fairy good finale.
Fate: The Winx Saga wrapped its second season with “All the Wild Witches,” an episode full of mind-blowing reveals (Bloom is how old?!), emotional confrontations (Aisha vs. Grey, anyone?), tragic deaths (R.I.P., Beatrix… for now!) and an epic cliffhanger that will leave every fan crossing their fingers and toes for a renewal. (One word, people: “…Mom?”)
The season’s explosive final hour also pit the fairies against Sebastian, a battle which finally pushed Bloom’s suitemates to sprout wings of their own.
“It was so much fun,” Eliot Salt (aka Terra) tells TVLine of the long-awaited group transformation. “Going up in the little strings and having a man in a green suit spin me around with his hands was one of the most surreal things that has ever happened to me, and I enjoyed every second.”
“Not every second,” counters Hannah van der Westhuysen (aka Stella.) “I got quite motion sick, but besides that, I was having a whale of a time. This job is so crazy and so fun.”

Cowen was “was just as shocked as everyone else” to learn that Bloom was put in stasis for 1,000 years as a baby. “It was shocking! She’s a thousand years old! Like, her skincare routine is incredible.”
“I love it,” adds Salt. “It’s one of my favorite twists ever, because who could have possibly seen that coming?”
Speaking of things we didn’t see coming, Cowen is also reeling from the episode’s final moment — when Bloom comes to face to (shadowy) face with her birth mother in the Real of Darkness.
“I really want to see her get to know her mom, and to see what that relationship has in store for her,” Cowen says of a potential third season. “Can she help Bloom learn to master these powers, or will she just tell her more earth-shattering stuff? It leaves on such a big cliffhanger. You can’t help but wonder what’s up next… if there is a next.”
If you were surprised to learn that Grey was one of Sebastian’s blood witch underlings, you definitely weren’t alone.
“I actually didn’t know about that before it happened,” Mustapha says. “We got the first three episodes to start, then we just got them as we filmed each block. So I really didn’t know Grey was a blood witch until we got that episode. I was like, ‘No! Trust issues!'”
Mustapha says it was “really fun to explore” Aisha’s romantic side, adding that it was “nice to see Aisha let go, to open herself up to someone and to allow herself to love,” even if it ended the way it did.
“I actually found that storyline to be quite undeserved,” van der Westhuysen says of Beatrix’s death at Sebastian’s hands. “The devastation of a breakup between two friends of that age is so tough. And even though there’s a reunion moment right before her death, it’s hard to conceptualize how massive that is.”
If there’s any silver lining to the tragedy, it’s that this is the reality check Stella needed. “It was a slap in the face, a reminder of what’s important. I’m really excited to see where this experience leads Stella.”

“Flora is usually there for everybody, giving advice and support,” Paulina Chavez says of her character, a highly-anticipated and extremely natural addition to the suite this season. But after her near-death experience with the scrapers in the finale, an encounter that’s going to leave emotional and physical scars, Chavez acknowledges that “Flora is going to be the one needing support next season,” should Netflix show such mercy.
As for whether Terra’s kiss in the finale means she has her first girlfriend? “Potentially!” Salt says, which is better than no… but not much.
To be fair, Salt would love for her character to be in a relationship, emphasizing that it’s “so important to see queer joy depicted on screen.” She just doesn’t know!
“Hopefully we’ll get a Season 3 so we can see how that goes,” she says.
Relying less on her powers and learning to become more physical was “something I’ve always wanted” for Musa, Applebaum says. “I always admired Lara Croft, so give me a bit of that and I’ll be happy. It’s also nice that she’s found something to be able to control her powers, because now she can work on herself.”
Romance isn’t exactly the first thing on Bloom’s mind at the moment, but Cowen still has “hope that there’s hope for her and Sky.” Only time will tell whether their relationship can survive Bloom’s trek into the Real of Darkness.
“Their relationship really grows this season,” Cowen says. “They care for each other, so it’s really heartbreaking for her to leave him like that. But she left because she was afraid she would hurt him. If she gets overwhelmed or too emotional in a moment, she might end up hurting him the way she hurt Rosalind or her parents. So Sky might feel like she doesn’t want to stay for him, but she’s actually leaving for his sake.”
Not as bad as this first season, but still really weak. I get the feeling that the writers are trying to course correct and make it more like the animated series but they are just too stupid to figure out how to get there.

It’s great that we finally got Flora and she is easily the best character but it’s obvious that the show can’t find a way to balance both Terra and Flora. They should have just killed Terra off, and had Flora take her place. Also with the recasting that they did this season they didn’t recast Musa?!?! What kind of racist BS is this?!?!
There eyes need to glow brighter as thier magic is getting stronger. bloom needs to go from an orange to a lazer red when shes in god mode
I don’t know why this bonkers show is so entertaining, but one binge-watch laters, and here I am.
Please it’s hard to find good shows that are not Blood and Guts! Keep this show going!!
