Emmys: The White Lotus, Euphoria and Stranger Things Lead Early Winners; OMITB and Squid Game Grab First Wins

HBO’s Euphoria and The White Lotus and Netflix’s Stranger Things dominated the Creative Arts Emmys this weekend, each picking up five technical awards ahead of the 74th Primetime Emmys later this month.

Euphoria‘s five wins included Colman Domingo, who took home his first career Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. CBS’ Adele: One Night Only and Disney+’s The Beatles: Get Back also racked up five trophies, while Netflix’s Arcane and Squid Game (which took home the prize for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama for Lee You-mi) each earned four wins a piece.

Among other notable winners: Only Murders in the Building‘s Nathan Lane, a seven-time nominee for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy, took home his first-ever Emmy; and Hacks‘ Laurie Metcalf, now a four-time Emmy winner, took home her first trophy since 1994.

An edited presentation of the Creative Arts Emmys will be broadcast on Saturday, Sept. 10 (8 pm ET/PT) on FXX. The main Emmys ceremony, hosted by SNL‘s Kenan Thompson, airs Monday, Sept. 12, live on NBC.
