The Television Academy will be FedExing quite a few Emmy trophies to Schitt’s Creek, if TVLine readers have any say in the matter.
Last month, we asked you to vote in a series of Emmy polls in which you chose who should win in 15 major categories at this year’s ceremony. And Pop TV’s acclaimed series emerged as a clear favorite, sweeping all four comedy acting categories and the Outstanding Comedy Series poll.
In the non-comedy arena, HBO’s buzzy Watchmen earned the most votes in three limited series polls, while BBC America’s Killing Eve and Netflix’s Ozark claimed victory in two drama polls a piece.
Across all 15 polls, the most decisive victory was Catherine O’Hara’s; her final season as Schitt’s Creek‘s eccentric Moira Rose scored a whopping 63.5 percent of the vote in the Lead Actress in a Comedy category. But there were a few nail-biters, too: Killing Eve star Jodie Comer narrowly edged out The Morning Show‘s Jennifer Aniston for Lead Actress in a Drama, while both Supporting Actress and Supporting Actor in a Limited Series came down to the wire. (Watchmen‘s Jean Smart and Hollywood‘s Jim Parsons, respectively, triumphed in the end.)
For the actual winners of this year’s Primetime Emmys, you’ll have to tune in to the virtual ceremony airing Sunday, Sept. 20 on ABC; Jimmy Kimmel will return as host.
