TVLINE | When I spoke to Billy [Burke] at the beginning of the season, he had great things to say about you. He said that your acting process and his “non-process” gelled wonderfully.
I know. Billy and I were meant to be married on television. We are, like, the opposite of almost everything and it just freakin’ works. It’s so exciting when you like your coworkers.
TVLINE | It’s great what you two have been doing as Sharon and Vince. They’re fun, they’re fiery, they’re sexy….
And we need some sexy in our 50s on TV! Come on, let us be alive. What’s funny is that you never see a husband and wife on TV who are about the same age, and I think that’s the problem. When the wife is consistently 30 and the husband is consistently 50, yes, there’s that initial attraction but they don’t have any heat because they’re not in the same place in their lives. Billy and I have had similar losses in life. I mean, we’ve had a lot of gains, but similar losses, which really help with the Sharon-and-Vince of it all, because we know how to do that.
Sharon and Vince both have the tendency to do this. They did the same thing to Jake, when all the evidence seemed to be stacked up against him as the arsonist. This time, Vince sort of believed Bode while Sharon didn’t. Gabriella knows Bode’s lying. And if Freddie ever finds out he’s lying, he’ll feel so guilty that Bode sacrificed his chance at freedom for Freddie’s. The investigator shouldn’t have blackmailed Bode like that, just because SHE thinks he’s guilty. She doesn’t know him, and she had no interest in actually finding the truth. I hope Eve forgets about her, because she’s not worth it.
I agree!!
My thought is if the investigator continues to look into it, she’ll realize she made a mistake but use it to her advantage by having Bode do some undercover work in the prison in exchange for getting back to fire camp, or something like that. I think Freddie already knows something is up because he knows Bode was clean and says something to his love at the end about Bode, so another option is perhaps him and Gabriella teaming up to prove it from the outside.
Yeah, I think Freddie will help Gabriela too. He told Cookie, “They got Bode.” Stephanie Arcila already said she thinks Gabriela won’t let this go, and will look into it for the truth. I’m not ready to give Mel the benefit of the doubt, though. She was too “You’re guilty, and that’s that” about it. I’m not sure if she expected Bode to actually fall on his sword for Freddie, but now she has no reason to investigate anymore, since she said the investigation would go away if Bode gave himself up. She doesn’t strike me as the type of person who cares about the truth, but rather just closing the case for the State’s Attorney office.
I think sleeper has something on her
One word terrible finale, the writers really blew it. I’am done with the show. His parents, his girl friend, his friends his self respect. What were the writers thinking. I expected better from what I saw through the whole season. The disappointment on his father his mother’s face. How he broke Gabrealla’s heart. Yo save Freddy I’am sure most fans will be done with the show.
I love this show! I look forward to it every week. The characters are so convincing. I actually record it so I can watch it again during the off season.
Donna, i do the same and I’ll watch it over an over again
Scenes are becoming painfully predictable. You could see it a mile away that Bode would sacrifice himself for another. Should have stayed on Seal Team
I agree! Too much drama, only bad outcomes and Bode’s self-destructive tendencies. I had high hopes for this show and I think it could be good if they would lighten up a little bit and let Bode finally have a little bit if happiness. I’m not sure that I will watch season 2.
I would like to to know who to blame for writing/allowing Bode to speak to that woman ALONE in the room and tell him if you don’t do this your friend will suffer for your actions. I love the show but I really didn’t like how it ended the season. There was so much else that could have been focused on. Very disappointed in the finale.
I didn’t like to see bode back in jail but I think he as a plan , I’m sure he won’t stay in jail for long , watching fire country without Bode as a firefighter just not the same
The worst show on TV. Watched a good portion of the show and didn’t watch the ending. Glad I didn’t based off of this synopsis and comments.
Poorly written and acted. I wanted to like it but won’t watch second aeason. Surprised it was renewed .
I s33 what you did there. Great show.
.
I am guessing that Freddy stays with Cal Fire and works to get Bode free. Freddy knows the truth and won’t leave his man behind.
.
I was disappointed how quickly Sharon turned on Bode. Where was the evidence in her eyes. What did she observe of him all year?
Sharon was standing right in front of Bode’s real speech to the parole board. Will she pick it up and read it? We shall see – provided I watch season 2. DISAPPOINTED in finale. What were the writers thinking, and thy did the riot go along? Smh
Considering they wasted absolutely no time releasing Freddy, I’m sure someone will figure it out. Probably Eve or Manny. Eve was trying to prove Freddy was innocent and she knows Mel was doing a so called investigation. She’s probably under Sleepers thumb.
It was my favorite show. I loved Bode.
Sharon was much more supportive of Jake; it took a lot of evidence to make her think he was guilty. But she didn’t even let Bode get one sentence out before she decided he was lying. I didn’t like that, but now that I read this interview, I see that without having an addicted loved one, I would have no idea how they would act. I am looking forward to Season 2 for the revenge!
Disappointed the writers couldn’t come up with a better idea for a twist. The investigator was rather unbelievable. You can see she had an agenda, and the plot twist was predictable. You saw the plot from a mile away. Bode was going to put himself in the crosshairs to save another. Truly disappointed. There isn’t much too watch on Fridays anymore. So I guess I’m stuck with Fire Country. A show I have a hard time following.
That was all dirty that lady had it in for Brody she should be in jail he was hrail road I’m mad what was they doing and thinking he has had a really hard time goes that not count through that lady be hond bars get brodd out
Are we the viewers ever going to see Bode out of prison and able to lead a normal life? We need some normalcy for him, and his buddies back at camp should be helping to prove his innocence.
I love this show but I want Brody out of jail, his character has been through so much he deserves his freedom the drugs had nothing to do with him!
I don’t believe Bode is on drugs again , the other guy that came in set Bode up, and to keep trouble down in camp he takes the fall . He needs to protect everyone .
I love the show. This is a horrible ending for this season. Really… sacrificing himself yet again. not sure if I love it enough to keep watching.
I love this show. Little disappointed that Bodie did what he did. But I get it. Vince and Sharon are Fire Country! They have the best cast backing them.
Scripted network shows are so rare now that this okay show passes as a hit.
So sad that Bode took the fall! That investigater knew just what to say to get to Bode. Sure hope they figure out the truth before Gabriella finds someone else.
They should have demanded another test
Of course they should have! I hated the finale! So Bode sacrificed his family! No. Lazy writing.
That was my thought immediately but I guess it didn’t fit into their plan for the direction they wanted the finale to take. Wrong move!
This show has so many plot holes it should be a golf course. All season long I was thinking “they could have done that, they should have done that, that could never happen, etc.”. Worst of all they’re constantly talking about their personal lives while they’re supposedly trying to put out fires or save lives. I’m done.
Last episode was depressing, not even a glimmer of hope for Bode. SWAT had a great season finale, so did Blue Bloods, but Fire Country was depressing. It’s normally my favorite show.
That was really stupid way to keep the show going. Ruined the whole season for me.
Really did not like the way they wrote the twist at the end of the episode. It made me angry which is unfortunate since this has been my favourite show to watch all season
I don’t like that the investigation person forced him to lie
I don’t think in real life that could happen
The testing should bear out that it was not him
And one of those guys should come clean and spill
Having Bode confess and the whole mess with the investigator was sloppy, lazy writing. So disappointed in the writers and I had such high hopes. Write an interesting story about Bode making it on parole. Ugh. I am very unsure about next season after this.
