How can Laura Wright not get nominated for GH? That’s ridiculous! One of the best actresses in daytime! Happy for Finola, though! GH actors/actresses definitely deserve more recognition than they get. They’re some of the best talent around!
This is exactly what I said….Laura Wright is the best in daytime!
Laura Wright didn’t deserve a nomination this season. Her character did little else except to butt into everyone else’s business. She had no big storyline that really highlighted the character, so I imagine that’s why she’s not on the list.
Your comment does not make sense. GH has the most nominations this year. And most years, it has the most nominations. They get recognized all the time.
It could just be that GH didn’t put her up this year, her fellow actors at GH didn’t vote for her from the show, or she didn’t put her own name in. She and Cynthia Watros were both nominated last year, so maybe they have to wait a year or two to be nominated again. Besides, you may think she’s fantastic, but everyone has their own taste.
Maura West deserved to be nominated!!
Agree with that one, too!
I wouldn’t consider MW “lead” this past year. Maybe she put her name in for supporting…
Ava was part of the biggest story this year with Nicholas/Esme story. So many scenes with Trina, Elizabeth and Spencer. Not to mention Ryan!!
But yeah, they do sometimes end up nominated in what I consider the wrong category. Sharon on Y&R is the one I don’t get. She had a brief story where her husband died and then she’s been serving coffee all year, literally supporting the other characters with their problems. So maybe MW will end up nominated in supporting.
I read she decided not to submit this year.
Will it be a nomination for informative Talk show and also Talk show host
I read somewhere that they combined the talk hosts/shows into 1 category.
They eliminated the separate talk show categories!
Is Becky Herbst a supporting actress or lead? If she’s lead then she was robbed. The story she was given was garbage but she still delivered the heck out of it and we even got Liz confronting her parents in a very powerful scene. She should definitely be nominated this year.
Becky was robbed! :(
Did you not just read this article??? It clearly says which actresses and actors are nominated!! Becky is neither a lead nor supporting nominee this year!!
the nominations for lead were released before the nominations for supporting. When Tracy made her first comment, the nominations for supporting were not released yet.
Ugh! Not a fan of Y&R or B&B! Please let DAYS or GH pull ahead of them in the next round. Judging by the nominations I’m guessing a lot of people decided not to submit. I would have liked to have seen Maura West, Laura Wright or Cynthia Watros nominated from GH also. Ari Zucker would have been nice from DAYS. Over on the actor side Dan Feuerriegel from DAYS is missing from the list.
Also, if I had to Pick so far it would be :
Outstanding Drama Series: GH
Outstanding Lead Actress: Finola Hughes (GH)
Outstanding Lead Actor: As much as I love Maurice Bernard, I would have to go with Billy Flynn (Days)
Ugh Mark Grossman snubbed again, and he does such an amazing job with the crap he has been given. Some of those noms are weird to me but thrilled about Billy Flynn, Sharon Case, Melissa Claire Egan, Finola Hughes and Nicholas Chavez
Sherri is the best talk show host and deserves to win this year. I always enjoy her! Kelly Clarkson has the most enjoyable and best overall show, as always. I felt that Kelly and Ryan phoned it on too much this year.
Since when is Dan F (EJ DiMera) a Supporting Actor?
Nice to see The Bay get some nominations. It’s a pretty good show, especially the recent seasons.
As much as i loved sonya eddy as epiphany and miss her, i honestly cant remember her even APPEARING this year prior to her death. An overdue acknowledgment nonetheless
Epiphany had the entire story with Marshall and studying to become a doctor to realize her dreams. That said, I can’t recall any particularly phenomenal scenes with her but the nod is still very good.
Shame Deidre Hall never makes the nominations even when she submits she gets turned down. No idea if she submitted this year but she did last year and she deserved it imo
She did have some great performances in the past year or so. Especially during the time that I was possessing her… and other members of her family!
The View shut out of all categories? That is disgraceful!
To me there is a conspiracy against The View. There are always negative remarks against these ladies, Alyssa included. Each facial expression and attitude criticized, especially from Whoopi. I think this comes from certain politicians because The View speak their minds. The View don’t “sugarcoat” anything. Certainly people don’t want to hear THE TRUTH.
Alley Mills SO deserves to win Best Guest Appearance for her portrayal of Heather Webber…she really kicked a**! While I would have loved the best crazy Heather brought back by Robin Mattson (who was recovering from surgery), Alley stepped up and was almost as believable as Robin! 😵
Ditto!
Dear TVLine Team: Sharon Case is Sharon Rosales, widow of Rey Rosales, formerly known as Sharon Newman. Where did you get Sharon Collins? Do you actually watch these soaps?
Super happy for Kelly Thiebaud (will always miss Britt!) and nice to see Sonya Eddy get recognized although I wish it had been before she passed away. I wish GH had utilized her more over the years because she was a great asset to the show and she had excellent chemistry with everyone she worked with. Also really nice to see Nicholas Chavez get recognized in the Supporting Actor category, which is where he deserves to be (actually he could be in the lead actor category in my opinion – he steals every scene!), instead of the Younger Performer category. Eden McCoy really should be in the Supporting Category, too, but still happy to see her get nominated. She’s become an excellent actress and scenes with her and Laura Wright especially are always fantastic! Honestly, I think Avery Pohl and Marcus Coloma should have been nominated, too. Yes, I know the storyline was questionable, but the two of them were great during the year in every scene they had. I really miss Marcus! He was a good Nicholas in my opinion. GH really does have the best actors/actresses. I’ve watched snippets of the other daytime shows that are still on TV and streaming and the acting is embarrassingly bad. Even Steve Burton on Days is so bad!! But I loved him on GH. Wish he could come back to GH. He deserves better than the horrible storylines and bad acting on Days. On the talk show front, hope Drew or Sherri wins.
What are you talking about? Eden’s age determines that she’s in the younger category. so not she should not really be in the supporting category.
Jeez! What about Maura West and Cynthia Watros from GH??????
Parasite Nina is making GH unwatchable ever since that idiotic Tricky Dick Nixon Falls storyline… which really hasn’t ended yet.
She needs to be gone. And hopefully her latest stunt will finally cause Sonny to wake up from the brain fog he’s been in ever since he & Julian fell off that bridge.
Daytime Emmys are the equivalent of high school student council elections. And they don’t count towards an EGOT.
I have to say that to me the best talk show on TV in the afternoon is hands down The Talk. I absolutely love Natalie, Amanda, Sheryl, Akbar and Jerry. They are natural and funny and kind and caring. Their discussions and interviews are interesting. They are all so genuine and real. The hour flies by. And they weren’t nominated. That is a gross injustice.
Tanner Novlan on B&B should have been nominated for his nonverbal acting and Finn’s many confrontations while Sheila’s hostage last summer.
My grandmother and I use to watch Y&R, B&B, GL, ATWT together. Soaps today have no redeeming qualities for today’s society. A litany of whose jumping from bed to bed, keeping it all in the family. I use to find it entertaining but now you can guess the story line. They have become poor quality FAIRY TALES.
