Dancing With The Stars Recap: Which Pair Left On Michael Bublé Night?

Michael Bublé paid a visit to the Dancing With the Stars ballroom on Monday night — well ahead of his regularly scheduled Christmastime ubiquity — for an evening of performances danced to his songs.

In addition to providing the soundtrack for our Top 10 couples — sheesh, Top 10 already? — Bublé also served as a guest judge on Monday's episode, and he delivered everything you'd want from an amateur dance critic: Effusive praise! The occasional, just-for-fun "10" paddle at scoring time! Even more effusive praise! He's just happy to be here!

And though the Top 10 certainly raised their game while dancing to Bublé's tunes in front of Bublé, not every couple did their best work. Wayne Brady and Witney Carson, for example, hit a rough patch this week after working with truncated rehearsal time, while Vinny Guadagnino — who has shown admirable improvement across the season — fell back into some of his Week 1 habits.

Which duo was sent home ahead of next week's Halloween celebration? Keep scrolling for our recap of Monday's performances and results, then hit the comments with your favorite (or least favorite) routines from Bublé Night!

SAFE: Shangela and Gleb Savchenko

DANCE STYLE: Tango (to "Hollywood")

It's rare to see a tango this glamorous and refined; on Dancing With the Stars especially, they're typically danced to intense, bass-heavy music with necks dramatically whipping left and right. But this tango was breezy and bubbly, while still maintaining proper hold.

JUDGES' SCORE: 45 out of 50

SAFE: Gabby Windey and Val Chmerkovskiy

DANCE STYLE: Rumba (to "Home")

Gabby and Val finally had a chance to perform the rumba they should have gotten on James Bond Night — in another universe, they rumba'd to Adele's "Skyfall," and it was divine — and it was well worth the wait. Sexy and slinky, but wonderfully romantic also, this routine was enchanting — and Jenna Johnson's guest appearance in the rehearsal studio gave us the best pre-performance package this show has seen in years.

JUDGES' SCORE: 46 out of 50

SAFE: Vinny Guadagnino and Koko Iwasaki

DANCE STYLE: Cha-Cha (to "Save the Last Dance for Me")

Aw, Vinny. Though we could see how devoted Vinny was to nailing the cha-cha's tough timing in rehearsal, the performance unfortunately fell apart within a few bars, and his technique couldn't recover. Even more crushing? How visibly disappointed Vinny was with himself during the judges' critiques. Like a scolded puppy! Gut-wrenching!

JUDGES' SCORE: 36 out of 50

SAFE: Jordin Sparks and Brandon Armstrong

DANCE STYLE: Foxtrot (to "You Make Me Feel So Young")

I'm not sure if it was the glamorous hair, the stunning dress or, y'know, the hours upon hours spent in rehearsal, but Jordin looked more at ease during this foxtrot than she has all season. There was a lovely, relaxed quality to her movements here, as well as an effortless musicality.

JUDGES' SCORE: 43 out of 50

SAFE: Charli D'Amelio and Mark Ballas

DANCE STYLE: Foxtrot (to "Fever")

In case there was any doubt that Michael Bublé lacks regular judging experience, his choice to describe Charli and Mark's foxtrot as "expressively erotic" certainly proved that. (We're on Disney+, sir! And Mark is twice her age!) But his other, G-rated adjectives — "effortless" and "mesmerizing" — were apt for this gorgeous, sultry number.

JUDGES' SCORE: 50 out of 50

SAFE: Heidi D'Amelio and Artem Chigvintsev

DANCE STYLE: Samba (to "It Had Better Be Tonight (Meglio Stasera)")

Save for the occasional flailing arm, Heidi's technique was solid throughout this samba — and kudos to her for having a visibly good time on the dance floor, when rebounding from a spot in the Bottom Two is no small feat.

JUDGES' SCORE: 46 out of 50

SAFE: Wayne Brady and Witney Carson

DANCE STYLE: Quickstep (to "I Get a Kick Out of You")

It was almost refreshing to see Wayne and Witney stumble here: After Wayne fell ill from exhaustion during the week, he and Witney only started rehearsals on Friday — that's three days ago! — and the last third of their quickstep fell badly out of sync. As it should have! They started three days ago! It's always nice to be reminded that even the top contenders are not, in fact, robots — and despite the errors and shortened rehearsal time, Wayne and Witney did a really excellent job on the whole.

JUDGES' SCORE: 44 out of 50

SAFE: Daniel Durant and Britt Stewart

DANCE STYLE: Foxtrot (to "Feeling Good")

Daniel's natural charisma and suave facial expressions were so, so perfectly suited to not only Michael Bublé's music in general, but "Feeling Good" specifically. The attitude! The charm! The sophistication! It was all there, as was some particularly impressive course-correction on Daniel's part when he briefly fell out of time with the music.

JUDGES' SCORE: 43 out of 50

IN DANGER, SAVED BY JUDGES: Trevor Donovan and Emma Slater

DANCE STYLE: Foxtrot (to "Come Fly With Me")

The concentration on Trevor's face at the top of this number had me worried that he'd be in his head and out of sync with Emma throughout the routine — but it was the opposite, in fact! After the first eight-count, Trevor relaxed considerably, delivering a foxtrot that was light and elegant.

JUDGES' SCORE: 42 out of 50

ELIMINATED: Jessie James Decker and Alan Bersten

DANCE STYLE: Salsa (to "Come Dance With Me")

After an evening of debonair foxtrots, this salsa felt a smidge out of place in the lineup, and Jessie's execution was more akin to a Week 3 or Week 4 performance. That said, Alan included a number of tough lifts in this routine, and Jessie navigated those with power and precision.
