The Challenge: Battle For A New Champion Cast Includes Cara Maria And CT, Plus One Major Twist — Get Premiere Date
Some of The Challenge's biggest and boldest champions are back in action, but spoiler alert: They won't be competing for the big prize.
In the show's 39th season titled Battle for a New Champion (which premieres on MTV Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 8/7c; watch a brief teaser above), 24 of the show's domestic and international (relative) newbies return to fight for the chance to become the show's newest winner. But in order to stand victorious, they must contend with legendary Challenge winners from seasons past in order to rightfully claim their seat on the throne.
The contenders (see photos below) will endure the ultimate test of willpower with "unpredictable formats and shocking twists." Reads the official description, "Mental and physical limits will be pushed further than ever before as contenders must face off against rotating vets in surprise eliminations. With the stakes higher than ever, this new era of competitors must beat the best to be the best. In the end, who will solidify their legacy and emerge as a first-time champion?"
Some of the returning winners include fan-favorites Cara Maria Sorbello (last seen on 2019's War of the Worlds 2) and CT Tamburello (last seen winning 2021's Spies, Lies and Allies). The players looking to cinch their first win include picks from The Challenge: Australia, Argentina and UK, in addition to U.S. up-and-comers like Jay Starrett, Nurys Mateo, Moriah Jadea and more.
Leading up to premiere, fans will get an exclusive sneak peek and meet the cast during MTV's The Challenge: Battle for a New Champion: Countdown Begins launch special airing Wednesday, Oct. 18th at 8/7c.
