Bridgerton: Queen Charlotte's 12 Royally Fabulous Wigs, Ranked

Few things have brought us joy like Netflix’s charming period drama, Bridgerton. But its plot twists weren’t the only thing hair-raising.

Adapted from Julia Quinn’s best-selling novels of the same name, the Shondaland-produced series from creator Chris Van Dusen is Gossip Girl meets Pride and Prejudice meets Reign with a dash of Grey’s Anatomy bravado. It’s a candy-colored dreamscape overflowing with delectable visual treats: extravagant empire waist gowns, perfectly tailored petticoats, lush florals, and a gorgeous cast that includes the dashing Duke of Hastings — who struts into every scene like he’s on a Parisian runway.

And while the Duke has certainly left his mark in the show’s first eight episodes, there’s another breakout star we can’t stop thinking about: Queen Charlotte and her luxurious hair.

Her Royal Highness came to play this season, serving up memorable looks highlighted by her seemingly endless supply of opulent wigs. Ranging in length, texture, and even color, these heavenly hairpieces command as much attention as their sovereign head bearer.

“Every single scene that I am in, I have a different wig and a different dress,” Golda Roshuvel, who plays Queen Charlotte, told Glamour.com. And sometimes she’s wearing wigs, as in multiple! In one scene, for example, “It’s a wig on top of the wig. And then feathers, which are real hair and crafted by hand…. It takes about half an hour to get the costumes on, and it takes two people to put me in. I’m even double-corseted. It’s a challenge, but it’s one that I am very, very happy to do.”

In honor of those efforts, we’re spotlighting her majesty’s unforgettable tresses. Here are Queen Charlotte’s 12 royally fabulous wigs, ranked.
