AGENT REEEVES, NCIS
We "get" that the actor was unhappy, but why not address that via better character development versus a somewhat random "hero's death"?
tv-deaths-2018-madison-fear-the-walking-dead
MADISON CLARK, FEAR THE WALKING DEAD
Unlike other actors in the Walking Dead-verse, Kim Dickens didn't ask for her character be killed off. In fact, during an appearance on Talking Dead, she admitted she was "heartbroken" and "devastated" when the producers told her what was coming — as were viewers when it finally hit the screen.

QUENTIN LANCE, ARROW
We were OK with him dedicating his life to finding the good within Evil Laurel. But giving up his life, to save her? That killed us as well.
tv-deaths-2018-jerome-gotham
JEROME VALESKA, GOTHAM
"Hey, you know how we refuse to simply christen this compelling, wonderfully played villain The Joker? How about we kill him off, so that his maniacal twin brother can... also not be called The Joker?"
tv-deaths-2018-hugh-star-trek-discovery
DR. HUGH CULBER, STAR TREK: DISCOVERY
Sure, we get that Tyler snapping the poor doc's neck proved he was a secret Klingon... but did we have to lose Culber's sweet romance with Stamets (and kill off yet another gay TV character) just for that rather obvious reveal?
tv-deaths-2018-hayley-the-originals
HAYLEY MARSHALL-KENNER, THE ORIGINALS
Losing a parent may be a rite of passage for all Mikaelsons, but after six seasons in the TVD-verse, did Hayley really deserve to give her life to stop Greta, a vampire we've known for all of five minutes?

GABRIEL, SUPERNATURAL
The archangel's tussle with apocalypse world's Michael did buy the Winchesters some time to escape, but his death did nothing but take away another fan favorite character.
tv-deaths-2018-fitz-agents-of-shield
LEOPOLD FITZ, AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.
Sure, there's the "hope" that Jemma will one day find and "reunite" with the other timeline's version of her husband. But man, Fitz's deluded, gasping death scene will haunt us nonetheless.
tv-deaths-2018-david-scandal
DAVID ROSEN, SCANDAL
We don't fault Scandal for wanting to go out with a bang, but killing David in the series finale served no real purpose, except to ensure a downer ending for Abby. Why couldn't it have been Cyrus?!
tv-deaths-2018-charlotte-lucifer
CHARLOTTE RICHARDS, LUCIFER
Just when we had warmed up to the "real" version of the legal eagle whose body Mum once inhabited, she is felled by a wayward bullet meant for someone else? You may call it "tragic," but we think it's simply sad.
tv-deaths-2018-anika-empire
ANIKA CALHOUN, EMPIRE
It's a shame the show's writers couldn't see that "Boo-Boo Kitty" was so much more than just Cookie's arch nemesis. And, adding insult to injury, the chain of events leading to her death felt like they were hatched in the Factory of Contrived Finale Plot Twists.
