Cancelled Or Not? 13 Shows On The Bubble

HIT THE FLOOR

STATUS: VH1 seemingly wrapped up the series with this fall's one-off "Til Death Do Us Part" special, but officially the network tells us "no decision has been made" on a fourth season.

CANCELLED OR NOT?: Sources tell TVLine that VH1's contractual hold on the main cast is about to expire, so if there is a Season 4 they better act fast.

INSIDE AMY SCHUMER

STATUS: Not unlike HBO's odd arrangement with Larry David re: Curb Your Enthusiasm, Comedy Central is ready to proceed with Season 5 when Amy Schumer is ready to proceed with Season 5.
CANCELLED OR NOT?: But given Schumer's skyrocketing career and crazy-busy film schedule, will she ever be ready to proceed with Season 5? Color us not optimistic.

FREQUENCY

STATUS: The rookie drama — which barely caused a blip in the ratings — will wrap its 13-episode season on Jan. 25 and then segue to the dreaded bubble.
CANCELLED OR NOT?: R.I.P. Frequency.

NO TOMORROW

STATUS: Similar to fellow CW rookie Frequency, No Tomorrow will wrap its season after just 13 episodes (its finale is slated to air on Jan. 17).

CANCELLED OR NOT?: The show earned stronger reviews than Frequency, but it needed Crazy-Ex Girlfriend-level raves to offset its anemic ratings. It's done.

AWKWARD

STATUS: Well, this is awkward: The official series finale aired last May, but showrunners Mike Chessler and Chris Alberghini have maintained that a sixth season is possible (even though they have since moved on to VH1's Daytime Divas).

CANCELLED OR NOT?: It's actually not so awkward. The show is definitely over.

PURE GENIUS

STATUS: CBS is not ordering additional episodes, although the network says Jason Katims' ratings-challenged medical drama remains in contention for a second season.
CANCELLED OR NOT?: We're calling it: Date of death will be Jan. 26, 2017.

TRUE DETECTIVE

STATUS: The Season 2 finale aired nearly two years ago, but HBO continues to insist a third-go-around is possible.
CANCELLED OR NOT?: Progress is being made!

SCREAM QUEENS

STATUS: Fox did not call this week's Season 2 climax a series finale...
CANCELLED OR NOT?: ... but all indications suggest it was.

CONVICTION

STATUS: ABC has opted not to order additional episodes of the Hayley Atwell-fronted legal drama. Even more ominous, the network will burn off the series' remaining episodes on Sundays at 10/9c beginning Jan. 1.
CANCELLED OR NOT?: Stick a fork in it.

NOTORIOUS

STATUS: The Scandal fill-in TGI-Tanked, leading ABC to trim its Season 1 episode order from 13 to 10.
CANCELLED OR NOT?: It's a goner.

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE

STATUS: Fox's ill-conceived miniature reboot was a ratings dud, sending the franchise into critical condition.

CANCELLED OR NOT?: Not! Fox has renewed the show for a "back to basics" Season 14.

GIRL MEETS WORLD

STATUS: The Jan. 20 Season 3 finale is titled "Girl Meets Goodbye," but Disney Channel is stopping short of calling it a series finale.

CANCELLED OR NOT?: Cancelled!

WAYWARD PINES

STATUS: After a lackluster second season, the series continues to sit on the bubble as Fox decides if the franchise has any gas left in the tank.
