Vampire Diaries: How Will Elena Say Goodbye?

After seeing what life as a human could offer her (thanks a lot, Jo and Alaric!), Elena takes the cure and starts fresh somewhere far, far away.

If you really want to talk "full-circle," why not reunite human Elena with the guy she was with way before those objectively handsome Salvatores entered her life?

After witnessing Jo and Alaric's post-nuptial bliss, Damon and Elena also decide to exchange vows before disappearing into the sunset. (But only Damon returns from the honeymoon in the Season 7 premiere because... I don't know, [spoiler] happens.)

Upon learning that Jeremy never really went to art school — Alaric gets wasted at his reception and starts telling secrets — Elena takes off to track him down. (Damon not included; he's just gif-bombing here.)

Not only will Elena stay put in Mystic Falls in Season 7, but she'll remain a vital component to the plot — you just won't exactly see her. (Example: "We need that potion! Good thing Elena's already working on it... over there in the kitchen.")

Elena compels the principal to hire her as a biology teacher at Mystic Falls High School; we never see that place anymore.

Because she literally can't even anymore, Elena downs the cure and demands she be compelled into forgetting all about that #vamplyfe.

Oh, whatever, it's not like she hasn't been through it before.

If there's one thing we've learned from The Originals, it's that there's no sticky situation a good ol' fashioned body swap can't fix. Just don't let Kol pick the body you're... oh, God, too soon. #RIPKol

Not that we're not rooting for MTV to renew Eye Candy, but should it find itself on the chopping block, at least that would free up Victoria Justice to fulfill her destiny as Elena's surprise doppelgänger. (Entourage's Emmanuelle Chriqui is also eligible for the position.)
