Andrea Brooks

Brooks returned to Hallmark's When Calls the Heart for its fifth season — but when she wasn't playing Faith Carter, Brooks appeared as Supergirl's Eve Teschmacher for eight episodes. Rounding out her 2018 resumé were a handful of Hallmark and Lifetime TV movies.

The Good Place - Season 3

Andy Daly

Speaking of The Good Place, Daly also popped up on the NBC comedy this year, playing Eleanor's mother's new beau. Among his (many) other 2018 credits: episodes of black-ish, Silicon Valley and Modern Family, plus voice work on such shows as Big Mouth, Bob's Burgers, American Dad! and The Simpsons.

ANNA HOPKINS

Anna Hopkins

Hopkins just couldn't stay away from sci-fi and fantasy projects this year. After appearing as Lilith in Shadowhunters' third season, Hopkins popped up on Syfy's Killjoys and The Expanse. She also added a crime drama for good measure, co-starring in Netflix's Bad Blood.

Welcome to the Fundraiser

Cedric the Entertainer

The comedy vet capped his year with a starring role in CBS' freshman sitcom The Neighborhood, but that was far from his only work in 2018. Cedric also co-starred in the TBS comedy The Last O.G., appeared in episodes of black-ish and Nobodies and voiced the character Moon in Cartoon Network's Summer Camp Island.

CHRISTINA OCHOA

Christina Ochoa

After wrapping up Valor's one-season run early this year, Ochoa — who also made last year's list of TV workaholics — joined the ensemble of ABC's freshman drama A Million Little Things and returned to Animal Kingdom for four episodes.

Cody Fern

Fern spent plenty of time at FX in 2018, having held major roles on both The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story and American Horror Story: Apocalypse. Capping his very busy year was a turn on House of Cards' sixth and final season.

connie-britton-busiest-tv-actors-2018

Connie Britton

Rayna Jaymes might be gone (sniff!), but Britton's career was alive and well in 2018. In addition to leading the first seasons of Fox's 9-1-1 and Bravo's Dirty John, Britton made brief returns to both American Horror Story and Nashville.

Call to Action

David Ajala

Ajala was the MVP of TV's sci-fi series this year: After leading Season 2 of USA Network's ill-fated drama Falling Water, Ajala could also be found on four Supergirl episodes and all 10 installments of Syfy's Nightflyers.

fred-armisen-busiest-tv-actors-2018

Fred Armisen

But it's Armisen who'll emerge from 2018 with the Most Tireless TV Actor award. Whether he was leading a series (Forever, Portlandia's final season), passing through for a guest appearance (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, SNL) or lending his voice to myriad animated shows (Big Mouth, Robot Chicken), Armisen showed up in more than three dozen episodes of television in 2018 — and that's not even counting his side projects, like serving as Seth Meyers' Late Night bandleader. (Frankly, we're tired just listing his credits.)

Submit to Thy Husband

Jay R. Ferguson

Living Biblically was not long for this world, but that didn't slow Ferguson down. After putting in 13 episodes of the ill-fated CBS sitcom, the actor also popped up on American Crime StoryThe Romanoffs and The Conners, where he currently plays Darlene's beau.

The Grant Allocation Derivation

Johnny Galecki

'90s nostalgia alert! When Galecki wasn't busy with his full-time gig as The Big Bang Theory's Leonard, he reprised his role as David Healy in episodes of both Roseanne and The Conners

Manifest - Season 1

J.R. Ramirez

After appearing as love interest Oscar Arocho in Season 2 of Marvel's Jessica Jones, Ramirez jumped to NBC for a series-regular role on freshman mystery Manifest. He also appeared in a March episode of NCIS: New Orleans.

Julia Garner

If it felt like you were seeing Garner everywhere in 2018, it's because you essentially were. In the last 12 months, the ubiquitous actress held roles on no fewer than five buzzy dramas: Waco, The Americans, Maniac, Ozark and Dirty John. (And she's only 24!)

JOHN GOODMAN, LAURIE METCALF, SARA GILBERT

Laurie Metcalf

Not only did Metcalf star in ABC's Roseanne revival and its offshoot The Conners, but she made time for episodes of The Big Bang Theory, Supergirl and a voiceover stint on American Dad!

Let Us Pray

Lindsey Kraft

Kraft hopped from broadcast to cable to streaming all year long. Anchored by a series-regular role on CBS' one-and-done Living Biblically, her 2018 work also included Grace and Frankie, Nobodies, The Ranch, The Conners and Dirty John.

margo-martindale-busiest-tv-actors-2018

Margo Martindale

Martindale spied TV gig after TV gig in 2018: In addition to wrapping her run as The Americans' Claudia, the actress appeared on Sneaky Pete's sophomore season, fought The Good Fight and lent her voice to DuckTales and BoJack Horseman.

Welcome to the Dinner Guest

Max Greenfield

Sandwiched between starring roles on New Girl and The Neighborhood, Greenfield found time for appearances on No Activity, American Crime Story and a voice gig on Bob's Burgers.

The Good Place - Season 2

Maya Rudolph

Rudolph's starring role on the acclaimed Amazon dramedy Forever was only a fraction of her 2018 work. She also recurred as The Good Place's all-knowing judge, guided teenagers through puberty once again as Big Mouth's Hormone Monstress and lent her voice to Big Hero 6: The Series and Mike Tyson Mysteries.

mckenna-grace-busiest-tv-actors-2018

Mckenna Grace

One of TV's youngest stars was also one of its busiest. In addition to her series-regular gig as The Haunting of Hill House's Young Theo, Grace also starred in Lifetime's The Bad Seed remake, voiced characters on Elena of Avalor and Mickey and the Roadster Racers, and still found time to put in appearances on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Fuller House, Young Sheldon and Designated Survivor.

RICHARD SCHIFF

Richard Schiff

Though Schiff spent most of his time playing Dr. Aaron Glassman on ABC's The Good Doctor, the actor also carved out time in his schedule to appear in five episodes of Counterpart and two installments of Ballers.

SARA GILBERT

Sara Gilbert

In 2018, Gilbert was practically on TV around the clock. Daytime fans saw her co-host another season of CBS chatfest The Talk, while primetime viewers watched her reprise the role of Darlene Conner on both Roseanne and The Connersand she paid visits to Jane the Virgin, Living Biblically and Happy Together.

Sydney Sweeney

After she wrapped her 10-episode run on Netflix's short-lived comedy Everything Sucks!, Sweeney's year got real dark: She split the remaining months between Hulu's uber-depressing The Handmaid's Tale and HBO's uber-depressing Sharp Objects.

timothy-hutton-busiest-tv-actors-2018

Timothy Hutton

Hutton was a hot commodity (or a Hutt commodity, amirite?) throughout the past 12 months, juggling major roles on a trio of series: Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, The Haunting of Hill House and How to Get Away With Murder.

Ready Player Two

Violett Beane

After recurring on The Resident's first season, where she played cancer patient Lily Kendall, Beane scored a series-regular gig on rookie CBS dramedy God Friended Me. She also showed up on installments of The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

WENDIE MALICK

Wendie Malick

Malick juggled roles on both American Housewife and The Ranch, then threw in a couple of TV movies and two episodes of This Is Us for good measure.
