Awkward's Jillian Rose Reed to Host Social Issue Docuseries Present Tense

Jillian Rose Reed Present Tense

As Jillian Rose Reed‘s Awkward character would say, this news is maje. (That’s supposed to read as “mage.” … You know what, it really only works out when you say it out loud.)

The MTV star has been tapped to host Present Tense, a new docuseries from Disney’s Maker Studios and Morgan Spurlock’s Warrior Poets, TVLine has learned exclusively. Premiering on smartish‘s YouTube channel later this year, Present Tense will “dive headfirst into aspects of our culture that relate to social issues, activism and gender.”

Additionally, Reed has partnered with Maker Studios to launch her own “relationship variety show” channel, which uses sketches, vlogs, parody music videos, cover songs and other mediums to “tackle funny relationship issues.” One show on the channel, We’re Dating, co-stars Reed’s musician boyfriend Marty Shannon.
