Eva Pilgrim Exits GMA3 To Anchor Inside Edition, Co-Host DeMarco Morgan Also Out
What you need to know... is that GMA3 co-anchor Eva Pilgrim will be succeeding Deborah Norville as anchor of Inside Edition.
Pilgrim will take over this fall, as the newsmagazine enters its 38th season. She will be only the fourth Inside Edition anchor, succeeding Norville, who recently departed after 30 years.
In addition, our sister site Variety reports that Pilgrim's GMA3 co-host DeMarco Morgan also has left the show and ABC News.
TVLine has reached out to ABC News for comment on Pilgrim and Morgan's final GMA3: What You Need to Know airdate.
"We feel like we won the jackpot to have Eva join our team as the next anchor of Inside Edition," executive producer Charles Lachman said in a statement. "She has solid news chops from her years as a reporter and anchor in national and local news, plus a warm relatability that resonates with audiences. We look forward to having a journalist of her caliber take Inside Edition into its next chapter."
"Anchoring Inside Edition is truly a dream job," Pilgrim said. "I have been an avid viewer and fan of the show for many years. I'm pinching myself that I get to work with this amazing team. It's truly an honor to join a show with such a long, rich history."
In her nine years at ABC News, where in addition to her GMA3 duties she served as a senior national correspondent, Pilgrim reported on a wide range of news stories, including the 2023 mass shooting in Nashville, the Alex Murdaugh trial, the Charlottesville rally, the 2020 presidential election, the murder of George Floyd, and Hurricanes Matthew, Harvey, Irma, Maria and Michael.
Prior to ABC News, Pilgrim got her start in local news making stops in Bluefield, W. Va.; Columbia, S.C.; Charlotte, N.C.; Indianapolis, Ind.; and Philadelphia, Pa.
