Jason Ritter (probably) will shake things up on A Million Little Things.
TVLine has learned exclusively that the TV vet has boarded Season 2 of ABC’s relationship drama for a multiple-episode story arc, playing someone with ties to Maggie’s (Allison Miller) mother, Patricia (The Office‘s Melora Hardin). Upon his arrival in Maggie’s life, this stranger will “upend everything,” we are told.
In addition to his most recent leading role, on ABC’s Kevin (Probably) Saves the World, Ritter’s credits include Another Period, Girls, Parenthood, The Event, The Class and Joan of Arcadia. Also of note, he previously acted opposite AMLT‘s Miller in the 2014 indie Always Woodstock.

TVLine can also confirm that Hardin will reprise her role as Patricia during Season 2, while Chandler Riggs, Drea de Matteo and James Tupper are also set to return, as PJ, Barbara and Andrew.
A Million Little Things kicks off Season 2 on Thursday, Sept. 26, nestled between Grey’s Anatomy and the final season of How to Get Away With Murder. In that Thursdays-at-9/8c time slot last winter, the freshman hit averaged a 1.1 demo rating — surging nearly 60 percent from its original Wednesday rating.
I may have to revisit this one. I watched for a while, but gave up after a while. However, I’d watch Jason Ritter read the phone book.

The show is so good, you shouldn’t have stopped watching.
Came here to say this. I never got into this show, but Jason Ritter is a wonderful actor. Most of his shows are either awful or end too soon though. But I’ll watch pretty much anything he’s in. Heck, I thought he was great in Us & Them lol. I don’t understand how he’s not a bigger star.

Hopefully we will see a lot of him- I love me some Jason Ritter and have been really sad when things he is in are only one season. One of the funniest shows ever The Class, The Event and Kevin specifically are ones I enjoyed and were gone too soon!

I’m happy to see Jason join, as well as Drea, James and Chandler continuing on … looking forward to seeing how the story continues and how they fit in.
My whole family loves it my daughter and I watch it annually when she comes home and my parents borrow our DVD occasionally to watch it too. No matter how many times I watch it I still laugh. There are a lot of shows that I wish had more than one season or longer runs than they did but this was #1 on that list. The season it was on there was no hour I looked more forward to than watching that and HIMYM.
I’d never heard of The Class until someone mentioned it in the comments on the one season wonder article TVLine posted a month or so ago. I binged it and LOVED it.

I’m a bit sad cos I really liked MLT but Jason Ritter, as talented and beautiful as he is, is the kiss of death for TV shows.
I’ve never watched this show, but I really like him. Might have to watch his episodes. Loved him on Parenthood!! Still wish Mr. Cyr and Sarah ended up together.
Looking at his credits, it just so happens that I have watched everything he has done, so I’ll (Probably) tune in.
The entire Ritter family are so talented. He and Tyson should be bigger stars.

I’ve been a fan since episode 1. I absolutely love this show!!! I’m also a fan of Jason Ritter as well when he played in Kevin Probably Saves The World. So excited for Season 2!!!!
Anyone else hoping this breaks his curse,I’m tried of him only getting one season shows; Kevin was one of the best shows on TV that year and I can’t fall for another one of his characters only to immediately have to say goodbye
