Emmys: Jennifer Coolidge Wins Best Supporting Actress In Drama Series For The White Lotus

Jennifer Coolidge's career-revitalizing White Lotus journey is ending on a very high note.

The veteran performer on Monday won her second Emmy Award — her first in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category — for playing now-deceased socialite Tanya McQuoid in HBO's resort-set phenom. Coolidge prevailed over a field that included four of her White Lotus co-stars (Meghann Fahy, Sabrina Impacciatore, Aubrey Plaza and Simona Tabasco), as well as Elizabeth Debicki (The Crown), Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul) and J. Smith-Cameron (Succession).

Coolidge's previous White Lotus Emmy triumph came in 2022 for her work in the series' breakout first season, although that win was in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series category. In that acceptance speech, Coolidge famously forgot to give a shout-out to the architect of her comeback: White Lotus creator Mike White.

This time around, Coolidge did not repeat that mistake.

"Mike White, thank you... for giving me this opportunity to play this incredible character," Coolidge said. "He said [Tanya's] definitely dead, so I'm going along with it. Coolidge then gave a shout out to "all the evil gays," referencing one of Season 2's most memorable Tanya lines.

In the wake of White Lotus' Season 2 finale, which concluded with her Tanya character getting killed off, TVLine praised Coolidge for giving her alter ego a "surprisingly resilient yet hopelessly inept swan song."
