Emmys 2023 Poll: Who Should Win For Supporting Actor In A Drama Series?

Did you watch Succession and The White Lotus last season? Great, then you've seen all the Emmy nominees for Supporting Actor in a Drama Series! If you didn't? Well, you're out of luck.

Yes, those two HBO series account for all eight nominees this year, with Succession earning four of them for its final season (after also earning three slots in the lead actor race). Matthew Macfadyen is back with his third nod for playing the eternally failing-upwards Tom Wambsgans — and he's the reigning champ here, too, with a win last year. Nicholas Braun also nabbed his third nomination as goofy underling Greg, and they're joined by a pair of co-stars who are new to the category: Alan Ruck, as pompous eldest brother Connor Roy; and Alexander Skarsgård as devious tech bro Lukas Matsson. (Skarsgård has earned two previous nominations in other categories, winning an Emmy in 2017 for Big Little Lies.)

The White Lotus' second season notched a quartet of nominations as well for its supporting actors, and one of them already has an extensive history with Emmy voters. Michael Imperioli, up for his role as vacationing dad Dominic, earned five nominations in this category during his years on The Sopranos, with a win in 2004. F. Murray Abraham, who played Dominic's crass dad Bert, has three previous Emmy nods under his belt, including a pair for Homeland. The other two White Lotus nominees are first-timers at the Emmys: Theo James, as smug resort guest Cameron; and Will Sharpe, as Cameron's nerdy frenemy Ethan.
