Emmys 2023 Poll: What Should Win For Outstanding Comedy Series?

Several Emmy favorites that have wrapped up their runs are looking for one last win in this year's race for Best Comedy Series. But a fresh wave of newcomers is ready to knock them off their perch, too.

The eight comedy series nominees include at least two acclaimed shows saying goodbye: Prime Video's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, up for the fifth time, including a win back in 2018; and HBO's Barry, which earned a fourth nomination for its fourth and final season. Then there's Ted Lasso, which we think is maybe ending as well (though there's no official word yet from Apple TV+) and is looking for its third straight win in this category.

The rest of the field, though, is made up of relative spring chickens, all in their first or second seasons. The freshmen contenders include Hulu's culinary pressure cooker The Bear, Netflix's altogether ooky Addams Family reinvention Wednesday and Amazon Freevee's inspired prank comedy Jury Duty. Joining them are a pair of celebrated sophomores back for the second straight year: ABC's schoolroom sitcom Abbott Elementary and Hulu's tongue-in-cheek murder mystery Only Murders in the Building.

So does one of the departing shows deserve to go out on top when the Emmys are handed out on Monday, Jan. 15 at 8/7c on Fox? Or is one of the more spry entries the better choice? It's time for you to have your say: Vote for your favorite in the poll below, then hit the comments to defend your pick.
