Emmys 2023 Poll: Who Should Win For Lead Actor In A Drama Series?
Missed yesterday's Emmy poll? Go here to vote!
Succession's Roy boys are attempting a hostile takeover of the category for Lead Actor in a Drama at this year's Emmys. But will another leading man spoil their plans?
HBO's acclaimed corporate drama made Emmy history this year, becoming the first show ever to earn nominations for three of its actors in this category. Leading the way is Jeremy Strong, nominated for the third time for his work as Kendall Roy, including a win in 2020. Brian Cox is back as well with his third nod as domineering patriarch Logan Roy, and they're joined by co-star Kieran Culkin, who notched his first nomination in the lead category as prankster Roman Roy after two previous nods in the supporting category.
But what if you can't stomach the idea of voting for a Roy? A completely understandable instinct, and luckily, you have three other worthy candidates to choose from, including Bob Odenkirk, who has one last chance to win for his role as Jimmy McGill for Better Call Saul's final season. (He's been nominated six times without a win.) We also have a couple of familiar faces in new roles: Pedro Pascal, earning his first career nod for playing Joel in HBO's survival thriller The Last of Us; and Jeff Bridges, nominated for playing veteran CIA operative Dan Chase in FX's The Old Man.
Should a Roy family member take home the gold when the Emmys are handed out on Monday, Jan. 15 on Fox? And if so, which one has the edge? Or does one of the other three contenders deserve to win instead? We want to know what you think: Vote for your favorite in the poll below, then hit the comments to defend your pick.
