Why Carla Duval From War Looks So Familiar
HBO Max's legal drama "War" has finally premiered, and viewers may be curious why scorned wife Carla Duval looks familiar. That's likely because Carla is played by actress Sienna Miller, who has appeared in multiple high-profile films, including "American Sniper," "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra," and "21 Bridges." Miller also starred in "Jack Ryan: Ghost War" alongside John Krasinski and Wendell Pierce, adding yet another major action film to her acting resume.
Additionally, Miller has appeared in several TV roles throughout her career. One of the most notable was as Tippi Hedren in "The Girl," which earned her a BAFTA nomination for best leading actress. The TV movie dramatizes the relationship between Alfred Hitchcock and Hendren, particularly during the filming of the critically acclaimed Hitchcock film "The Birds." Miller has also appeared on TV series such as "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and starred in the miniseries "Anatomy of a Scandal" and the short-lived police procedural "Keen Eddie."
Sienna Miller admitted to nearly sabotaging her own career
Fans may recognize Sienna Miller from her 2004 film "Alfie," but they may have noticed that she seemed to disappear afterward. According to Miller, that was due to her own missteps as a young actress. "I sabotaged things," said Miller in an interview with Esquire UK (via Entertainment Weekly). "I burnt a lot of bridges." She added that, amid high-profile tabloid scrutiny over her romantic life back then, she naively believed she could remain open without damaging her public image. As a result, Miller thinks people stopped casting her for roles because "people don't want to see films with people they don't approve of in them."
Luckily for Miller, she seems to have turned it around since those negative press days. In addition to having steady acting work, she is now a mother of three. One child is from her previous relationship with actor Tom Sturridge, and her other two children are with her current fiancé, Oli Green.
"War," starring Miller and Dominic West, is now streaming on HBO Max.
