In the latest TV show ratings, CBS’ NCIS: Los Angeles opened Season 12 with 6.4 million total viewers and a 0.8 rating (per Nielsen finals), up a tenth in the demo vs. its previous average. TVLine readers gave the premiere an average grade of “B”; read recaplet.
Leading out of that, NCIS: New Orleans (4.7 mil/0.6) was also shy of its previous demo average while easily posting its smallest audience ever. Due to NFL delays, the first “NCIS Classic” episode aired outside of primetime/no ratings available.
NBC | Sunday Night Football (15.7 mil/4.2) was down 8 and 14 percent from last week’s finals.
ABC | AFV (5 mil/0.7) and Millionaire (3.1 mil/0.5) were steady, while Supermarket Sweep (3.3 mil/0.7) dipped for a third straight week since its debut. The Alex Trebek news special that bumped Card Sharks then did 3.6 mil/0.4.
FOX | Versus their most recent non-NFL boosted numbers, The Simpsons (1.7 mil/0.7) ticked up, Bless the Harts (1.2 mil/0.4) and Family Guy (1.4 mil/0.6) were steady, and Bob’s Burgers (1.3 mil/0.6) dipped.
THE CW | Pandora (257K/0.0) stayed non-negative in the demo.
The Live+Same Day numbers reported in our ratings column do not reflect a show’s overall performance, given the increased use of delayed playback via DVR and streaming platforms, plus out-of-home viewing. These numbers (Nielsen fast nationals, unless denoted as finals) instead aim to simply illustrate trends or superlatives. BEST USED BY 05-01-2021.
