After seven seasons of temptAtion, Aria Montgomery is finally “going there.”
As promised by the promos for tonight’s Pretty Little Liars (Freeform, 8/7c), Aria will betray her fellow Liars in order to win the #PLLEndGame. And while Aria’s nearest and dearest probably won’t be thrilled by her actions this week, Lucy Hale has no regrets.
“It was fun to play a totally different side of her,” the actress told TVLine on the carpet at The CW Upfront, where she was promoting her new series Life Sentence. “You’ve really never seen this kind of behavior from her before.”
Hale said she fully anticipates that “a lot of people are going to be angry with Aria,” especially fans of the show. (“I’m reading a lot of tweets from people who are not happy with me,” she said with a laugh.)
But like most PLL twists, Hale urges fans to wait, watch and keep the faith. After all, it’s not like she’s the first Liar to do A’s bidding.
