The pop songstress joined James Corden for his latest musical ride, as part of CBS’ second annual Late Late Show Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special — and needless to say, we think she liked it.
All puns aside, the tuneful, 13-minute drive served as a reminder of just how many chart-toppers Perry has released. Monday’s sing-along featured many a hit song, including “Firework,” “I Kissed a Girl,” “Dark Horse,” “Bon Appetit,” “Roar” and her new single “Swish Swish.”
In juicier news, Perry also confirmed the “famous beef” between her and fellow pop star Taylor Swift: “Honestly, it’s really like, she started it, and it’s time for her to finish it.” (Damn!) Perry told Corden the feud stemmed from a dispute over backup dancers who switched from Perry’s tour to Swift’s, and she tried to reach out to Swift about it, but “she wouldn’t speak to me… It was a full shutdown, and then she writes this song about me, and I’m like, ‘OK, cool cool cool, that’s how you wanna deal with it?’ Karma!”
But Perry’s ready to bury the hatchet with Taylor once and for all: “I’m ready for that B.S. to be done… women together will heal the world.”
