The Goddess of all Creation is utterly unable to craft a lie, as seen in this sneak peek from Monday’s Lucifer.
In the episode “Sympathy for the Goddess” (airing 9/8c on Fox), when the man who had the final piece of the Flaming Sword is murdered and the piece goes missing, Charlotte and Lucifer (played by Tricia Helfer and Tom Ellis) scramble to make sure that Chloe (Lauren German) catches the case — which is simpler said that done, as mother and son illustrate in the clip above. Press play to see Lucifer struggle to coach Mum through the spinning of a tall tale.
Elsewhere in the episode, Maze recruits Lucifer to help save Dr. Linda’s endangered career — and also confronts him about the secrets he’s been keeping. “Maze is pissed,” co-showrunner Joe Henderson previously told TVLine. “There are photos that leaked online of a very bloody battle between Lucifer and Maze, and that’s where this goes down.”
As a whole, “‘Sympathy for the Goddess’ is our episode where we sort of play with mismatched pairings,” Henderson said. “So it’s Chloe and Mom working a case together, which Chloe desperately doesn’t want to do because she absolutely hates this woman.” Additionally, “We found some really fun and cool stuff to do with Amenadiel and Dan, the two characters that have sort of been second fiddle to Lucifer.”
