The four women at the center of HBO’s Girls are proving why they didn’t call the show Friends. (You know, besides the fact that it’s already taken.)
In a just-released teaser — which you can watch above — for the final season of Lena Dunham’s millennial dramedy, the fractured foursome of Hannah, Marnie, Shoshanna and Jessa are having a “group meeting”… except none of them actually want to have a group meeting. (“That’s probably about the only thing we can all agree on,” Shosh sneers.)
The once-tight quartet butted heads last season over a number of issues — most notably, Jessa starting a romance with Hannah’s ex Adam. In the trailer, we see Hannah awkwardly running into Adam and sitting across from him in a diner booth. Jessa wants to mend fences with Hannah, but Hannah’s not having it: “I don’t think we ever acted like friends.” (Ouch.)
The good news: lots of Andrew Rannels’ Elijah in the final season, as we see him hugging Hannah (with no pants on) and killing it in a dance class. And at least Hannah comforts a sobbing Marnie with this bit of wisdom: “It can be pretty hard to have observations about other people when you’re only thinking about yourself… I would know.”
The final season of Girls kicks off Sunday, Feb. 12 at 10/9c on HBO.
