Scandal is thankfully sparing us from enduring another incendiary presidential election cycle.
When the ABC drama returns at midseason, the action will pick up “on election night,” exec producer Shonda Rhimes revealed to EW.com. “We’re not going to spend our time playing an election.” When Season 5 ended, Mellie and Jake (aka the Republican ticket) and Francisco and Cyrus (aka the Democratic ticket) had just launched their respective campaigns.
As TVLine previously reported, Scandal star Kerry Washington’s real-life pregnancy forced the network to postpone the launch of Season 6 until early 2017.
