HBO is betting on Alan Ball for a third time.
The cable network has ordered to series a contemporary family drama from the Six Feet Under and True Blood producer, our sister site Deadline reports.
The untitled show follows a multi-racial family made up of a philosophy professor father, his lawyer wife, their three adopted children from Somalia, Vietnam and Colombia, and their sole biological child. They appear to be a seemingly perfect, progressive clan, but are actually harboring deep rifts. When one of their children begins to see things others cannot, the question arises, is it mental illness or something else?
The series, created by Ball, is described as “a tragicomic meditation on the complicated forces at work on us all in America today.”
