Wayward Pines wrapped Season 2 on Wednesday night with 2.3 million total viewers and a 0.7 rating, adding a handful of eyeballs but flat in the demo week-to-week.
As a whole, the show’s unexpected sophomore run averaged 2.4 mil/0.7, down 36 percent from its freshman season. Readers gave the finale an average grade of “B,” with 84 percent voting for renewal.
Opening Fox’s night, MasterChef (3.3 mil/1.0) slipped two tenths.
Elsewhere on the night….
NBC | America’s Got Talent (9.2 mil/1.7) slipped to a Wednesday low for the season, yet still edged out Big Brother for the demo win. The Night Shift (6 mil/1.1) ticked down but marked its second-largest audience of the season.
CBS | Big Brother (5.6 mil/1.6) dipped, American Gothic (2.5 mil/0.6) was flat.
THE CW | Penn & Teller (3.3 mil/1.0) slipped two tenths, while Whose Line (1.7 mil/0.5) rose to season highs.
The Big 3’s coverage of the Democratic National Convention totaled 8.3 million viewers and a 1.8 rating, down sharply from Night 2 (11.4 mil/2.4) as well as the RNC’s Night 3 (10 mil/2.1)
