Power Rangers Movie Bryan Cranston

Bryan Cranston Joins Power Rangers Movie as Floating Head Zordon

Walter White is about to recruit a team of teenagers with attitude.

Lionsgate on Tuesday announced that Bryan Cranston will appear in Power Rangers, the March 2017 movie based on Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, which aired on Fox Kids from 1993 to 1995. Interestingly enough, Cranston did voiceover work in several Season 1 episodes of MMPR.

This time around, Cranston will play Zordon, the giant floating head responsible for assembling a team of warriors to battle the evil Rita Repulsa (played on the big screen by Elizabeth Banks). In the original series, Zordon was portrayed by David J. Fielding.

Previously announced cast members include Dacre Montgomery as Jason, the Red Ranger; Ludi Lin as Zack, the Black Ranger; RJ Cyler as Billy, the Blue Ranger; Naomi Scott as Kimberly, the Pink Ranger; and Becky G. as Trini, the Yellow Ranger.

Wonder if Cranston goes bald like his Breaking Bad character Walter White.

  2. JOANNEY says:

What do the young kids says now? Yasssssss

  3. Normandy says:

You forgot to mention that Cranston actually provided voiceover work for the Americanized Power Rangers TV series.

  4. John Corbae says:

    I am the one who knocks.. . . . . . . . . . .so try a higher octane.

Cranston is just trying to make as much money and have as much fun as possible for as long as possible before BBad fame wears off.

    Welcome home, Bryan.

Nice to get a veteran back in there. Curious if any of the surviving original cast will get cameos or anything. I’m guessing Amy Jo Johnson will stay away, I understand the show kind of lead to some issues for her, unfortunately…

    • Tony says:

Like what? I’ve never heard anything more than wanting to do other stuff acting wise. And she has continually since acknowledged her involvement in various ways (though not as seriously as some other former rangers)

      • peterwdawson says:

There’s been some incidents with stalkers. It’s been said that’s one reason she doesn’t go to Morphicon. I dunno if the latter is true but the stalker stuff has been noted. How much it has affected her career, hard to say. You are right that she did stuff like the Rangers bit in VHS’s I Love the 90s so it’s not like she’s denied the connection.

  7. Joey Padron says:

Great casting of Bryan playing Zordon. Didn’t know he did voiceover work on Power Rangers show. Cool to learn that.

  8. Riana says:

I’m pretty sure the rangers have different names.

  9. powerturtle90sdudemon says:

David Fielding was the voice of Zordon for only the first 40 episodes. The next ~175 remaining appearances were voiced by Bob Manahan
