TVLine Items: Cruel Intentions Adds O.C. Star, Nashville Tour and More

Peter Gallagher Cruel Intentions

Peter Gallagher‘s next TV offspring will make Ryan Atwood look like an angel.

The O.C. alum has been cast in Cruel Intentions, NBC’s drama pilot that follows up on the 1999 film.

Picking up more than 15 years after the end of the movie, the project centers on Bash Casey, son of the late Sebastian Valmont and Annette Hargrove (Reese Witherspoon in the film, Drop Dead Diva‘s Kate Levering in the pilot). Upon discovering his father’s legacy in a hidden journal, Bash is introduced to a world of sex, money, power and corruption he never could have imagined.

Per our sister site Variety, Gallagher will play Bash’s grandfather Edward Valmont, a sexy, powerful and ruthless billionaire hotel magnate. Delighted to discover he has a long-lost grandson, Edward starts grooming Bash for a life of wealth and opportunity.
