Game of Thrones Samwell Tarly Family

A major Tarly family reunion is coming to Game of Thrones.

The HBO fantasy drama has cast three actors to play Samwell Tarly’s family in Season 6: James Faulkner (Da Vinci’s Demons) as Randyll, Samwell’s father; Samantha Spiro (From Hell) as his mother, Melessa; and Rebecca Benson (Macbeth) as his sister, Talla.

As previously reported, UnREAL star Freddie Stroma will play Samwell’s brother, Dickon. Other Season 6 additions include Essie Davis (The Babadook), Richard E. Grant (Downton Abbey), Pilou Asbæk (The Borgias), Max von Sydow (The Tudors) and Ian McShane (Deadwood).

Game of Thrones returns in 2016.

* First Lady Michelle Obama will appear on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Monday, Sept. 28, CBS announced Friday.

* Tessa Thompson (Veronica Mars) has joined HBO’s upcoming sci-fi drama Westworld, about a futuristic theme park where the androids go berserk and attack the guests. She will fill the series-regular role of Charlotte Hale, a mysterious and savvy provocateur with a unique perspective on the titular park.

* ABC has given a put pilot commitment to Ordinary People, a romantic comedy from musician John Legend and supermodel Chrissy Teigen. According to Deadline, the project (which will feature musical elements) is loosely inspired by Legend and Teigen’s marriage and centers on an interracial couple with very different personalities and ambitions.

* Transporter film star Jason Statham will exec-produce and star in Viva La Madness, a TV series based on J.J. Connolly’s crime novel. The project — which is being shopped to networks — will star Statham as a wanted British gangster who is hiding out in the Caribbean, but eventually gets back to his criminal ways with two other London thugs.
