Tyrant Season 2 Sneak Peek: Two Words May Save Barry From Execution

When FX’s Tyrant first premiered, Bassam “Call Me Barry” Al-Fayeed (played by Adam Rayner) was visiting his home country of Abbudin when his father died, thus putting the presidency in play.

As Season 1 drew to a close, Barry conspired with the U.S. government to stage a coup and thus keep his wicked brother Jamal (Ashraf Barhom) out of power. That… didn’t go so well. Instead, Jamal got wind of the plot and had his bro arrested, and now must decide whether or not to proceed with an execution.

In the above sneak peek from the Season 2 premiere (airing Tuesday, 10/9c), Jamal tells Bassam what would be a step in the right direction toward saving his hide — but will Barry say the words his captor/kin needs to hear?

Elsewhere in the second season opener, titled “Mark of Cain”: Molly (Jennifer Finnigan) fights to secure her husband Barry’s freedom, while anti-government leader Ihab Rashid (Alexander Karim) and his loyal follower Samira (Mor Polanuer) resort to desperate tactics.
