Saturday Night Live‘s Cecily Strong will headline the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner on April 25, Variety reports.

Strong — who was taken off SNL‘s Weekend Update desk prior to this season’s premiere — is the fourth female entertainer to be featured at the event.

* NBC News president Deborah Turness is denying an US Weekly report that Today‘s Natalie Morales and Willie Geist have been fired, our sister site Deadline reports.

“The entire Today show anchor team — Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, Natalie Morales, Willie Geist, Carson Daly, Tamron Hall, Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb — are incredibly talented, valued and have our support,” Turness said in a statement, adding that the group is “the team we are committed to.”

* Paris Barclay (Glee, Sons of Anarchy) will executive-produce and direct the pilot for Sons creator Kurt Sutter’s new series The Bastard Executioner.

* Fargo alumna Allison Tolman will appear on the Season 2 premiere of Comedy Central’s mockumentary Review, playing a nurse who becomes involved when Forrest (Andy Daly, Eastbound & Down) forays into “blackmail,” EW.com reports.

* Stephen Colbert will host the 37th Annual Kennedy Center Honors, saluting filmmaker Tom Hanks, ballerina Patricia McBride, singer-songwriter Sting and comedienne Lily Tomlin. The program airs Dec. 30 at 9/8c on CBS.

* Stuart Townsend (Betrayal) has landed a multi-episode arc on Elementary as Joan’s new boss during her part-time gig as an investigator for a global insurance firm, EW.com reports.

* Riley Smith (True Blood) has joined Season 2 of True Detective in a recurring role as a boyish Sheriff’s deputy; he’s also the boyfriend of Rachel McAdams’ character, Deadline reports.

* Callie Thorne (Necessary Roughness) will guest-star on NCIS: New Orleans as the daughter of a mob boss who started a nonprofit organization to try to rehabilitate her image, per EW.com.
