Treat Williams (Chicago Fire, Everwood) has joined the cast of NBC’s drama pilot Odyssey, per The Hollywood Reporter. The Traffic-esque thriller centers on three families whose lives are torn apart when a stranded female soldier (Pushing Daisies‘ Anna Friel), a disillusioned corporate attorney (Nurse Jackie‘s Peter Facinelli) and a disrespected political activist (Carrie Diaries‘ Jake Robinson) are pulled into the same shocking international military conspiracy. Williams will star as Col. Glen, who has a significant role in covering up the assassination of the 24th Special Ops unit.

• Susan Sarandon will return to Mike & Molly this spring as the literary figure adored by Melissa McCarthy’s character, reports TVGuide.com. This time around, Sarandon’s J.C. gets arrested by Mike, which forces Molly to come to her rescue.

Chuck alum Ryan McPartlin will stop by USA Network’s upcoming comedy series Playing House, TVGuide.com reports. The show revolves around mom-to-be Maggie (Best Friends Forever‘s Lennon Parham) and her childhood best friend, Emma (Best Friends Forever‘s Jessica St. Clair), who abandons her blossoming business career in China to help Maggie raise her baby. McPartlin will play a hunky officer who helps the women install their baby seat.
