The Best And (Even Better!) The Worst Of The 2013 MTV Video Music Awards!

VMAs Best and Worst Moments Best Display of Endurance Though he took the long route to the stage (escalators and all, like a behind-the-scenes SNL opening), Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award recipient Justin Timberlake sure delivered when he got there. In spite of sound system glitches -- wouldn’t have wanted to be whoever mic’d him when he got backstage! -- he danced through his greatest hits like he could’ve gone all night. (Actually, didn’t he go on for, like, 20 minutes?) He didn’t even slow up when his old (and presumably out of practice) ’NSync bandmates joined him for their brief reunion.

Never mind that MTV hasn't aired a music video since the The Real World actually bore a passing resemblance to the real world, the Video Music Awards remain an event awash in suspense. (What, if anything, will Lady Gaga wear?)

And not to take anything away from Sunday night's official winners (see below for that list), but we went ahead and handed out our own prizes in such categories as Biggest Surprise, Best Presenter and Wiggiest Entrance.
