The Daily Show Host John OliverThe Daily Show With Jon Stewart John Oliver has secured a start date.

Comedy Central announced Wednesday that the late-night series’ fan-fave correspondent will begin his eight-week stint as guest host on Monday, June 10.

Oliver is slated to fill in as The Daily Show’s anchor while the Stewart takes a brief leave of absence in order to direct his first feature film, an adaptation of Maziar Bahari’s 2011 memoir Then They Came for Me: A Family’s Story of Love, Captivity and Survival.

Stewart, meanwhile, will reprise his hosting duties on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

• Oprah Winfrey will sit down with Jason Collins — the first openly gay active pro athlete in a major American sport — and his family this Sunday, May 5, during an installment of Oprah’s Next Chapter. The special will air at 8/7c on OWN.

    Just a little correction: If Gary Carr is British, and he isn’t American as well, then he’s not an African-American. It’s not an insult to call someone black.

  3. I’m going to miss Jon, but I’m excited for John’s debut! I think he’ll do great. I’m also glad that Jon has the chance to work on his movie, which I’m looking forward to as well.
