Desperate Housewives‘ Richard Burgi is joining ABC’s Body of Proof as a district attorney with the hots for Jeri Ryan’s character, sources confirm to TVLine exclusively.
Burgi will play Dan Russell, a politically motivated public servant who fancies Ms. Murphy, on a recurring basis in the show’s upcoming third season.

His addition means that Ryan’s Kate, who until very recently had little going on in the romance department, will now attract the attentions of two good-looking guys. TVLine reported Thursday that Crossing Jordan‘s Ivan Sergei will guest-star this season as an enigmatic Ukranian lust interest for the lovely chief medical examiner.

In addition to Housewives, Burgi’s lengthy list of TV credits includes One Tree Hill, Castle, 24, Days of Our Lives and Seinfeld.
Body of Proof is set to return in early 2013.
