TVLine Items: Carell Is Laughing for Showtime, New Who Trailer, All-Star Top Models, and More

Former Office boss Steve Carell and fellow funny man David Steinberg are teaming with Showtime to deliver Laughing Stock, a new interview series that willprofile the cracking-wise likes of Tina Fey, Jerry Seinfeld, Judd Apatow and Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner.

Carell and Steinberg will exec-produce the series, with the latter also serving as host. A total of 10 half-hour episodes are targeted to air on early 2012.

• The CW has revealed the 14 America’s Next Top Model alumni who will be competing in the upcoming “all-star” season, premiering Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 9/8c. And they are: Shannon Stewart (Cycle 1), Camille McDonald (Cycle 2), Brittany Brower (Cycle 4), Lisa D’Amato (Cycle 5), Bre Scullark (Cycle 5), Bianca Golden (Cycle 9), Dominique Reighard (Cycle 10), Isis King (Cycle 11), Sheena Sakai (Cycle 11), Allison Harvard (Cycle 12), Laura Kirkpatrick (Cycle 13), Angelea Preston (Cycle 14), Kayla Ferrel (Cycle 15) and Alexandria Everett (Cycle 16).

• A trailer has been released for what is being dubbed “Season 6.2” of Doctor Who, which premieres Aug. 27 both here and across the pond. Check it out:

• CBS is in “deep negotiations” with Martin Lawrence — aka TV’s former Martin — to star in and exec-produce a new comedy for the network, reports New York Magazine‘s Vulture blog.

• The wedding of reality star Kim Kardashian and NBA player Kris Humphries will be broadcast on — shocker! — E! Television. The two-part event, titled Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event, is set to air Sunday, Oct. 9 at 8/7c … and the following night at 9 pm. Yay?

• After six years with Access Hollywood, Greek goddess Maria Menounos has signed a deal with Telepictures to co-host Extra — which apparently is a different show? Per Deadline, MM’s pact also scored her on-air duties with Dr. Drew’s new daytime talker for The CW, LifeChangers.
