Smallville‘s Michael Rosenbaum has scored a blind script commitment through a joint deal with Fox and 20th Century Fox Studios, Deadline reports. The actor, who recurs on the new Fox comedy Breaking In (premiering April 6) and will guest-star on Smallville‘s May 13 series finale, has dabbled in writing since vacating the role of Lex Luthor, even developing a sitcom for Syfy last year.

• In addition to Monday’s announcement that Emmy-winner Alan Alda would be a part of The Big C‘s second season, Showtime confirms that actor Hugh Dancy (Confessions of a Shopaholic, Claire Danes’ hubby) will recur on the series.
