In the vein of the popular Melissa & Joey, one of the shows, The Great State Of Georgia, is a multi-camera half-hour comedy starring The Cosby Show‘s Raven-Symoné as an aspiring actress who, with her science geek BFF (Roswell‘s Majandra Delfino), tries to take a bite out of the Big Apple. Because as the song goes, if you can… well, you know.
Turning to the two new dramas…. The Nine Lives of Chloe King stars Skyler Samuels (The Gates) as a teen who comes to realize, upon developing heightened abilities, that she’s part of an ancient race which has been hunted by human assassins for millennia. (Yes, it’s that story again!) Amy Pietz (Aliens in America) plays her mom.
Switched at Birth, meanwhile, stars Vanessa Marano (Gilmore Girls) and newcomer Katie Leclerc as girls who discover they were [see title]. Drama develops as the kids and their respective clans — one rich, one poor — decide to merge under one roof. Lea Thompson (Back to the Future) and D.W. Moffett (Friday Night Lights) play Marano’s folks, while Constance Marie (George Lopez) is the single mom to Leclerc’s character, who as a tot lost her hearing due to meningitis.
