Ratings: All ABC Dramas Rise With Finales, The Rookie Tops Tuesday
In the latest TV show ratings, and with CBS’ #TheFBIs in rerun mode, ABC’s The Rookie season finale led Tuesday both in total audience and in the demo.
ABC | The Rookie ended Season 5 with 4.2 million total viewers and a 0.5 rating, marking a three-episode high in audience and also up an uptick in the demo; TVLine readers gave both the finale and the season an average grade of “A” (read recap). On-the-bubble The Rookie: Feds (2.9 mil/0.3) closed its freshman run with its best audience since Jan. 31 and also ticked up in the demo; grade the season below. Will Trent (3.2 mil/0.3, TVLine reader grade “A+”) wrapped Season 1 with a three-episode high in audience while steady in the demo.
THE CW | Superman & Lois (670K/0.1, read post mortem) grew to its third-largest audience of the season thus far, whereas Gotham Knights (340K/0.1) slipped to a new low.
FOX | 9-1-1: Lone Star (3.5 mil/0.4) and Accused (2 mil/0.2) both added viewers while steady in the demo.
NBC | Night Court (3 mil/0.3) and The Wall (1.9 mil/0.2) dipped, while Lopez vs. Lopez (1.9 mil/0.2) and Weakest Link (1.9 mil/0.3) were steady.

If the WGA strike wasn’t happening I’d say there was a fair chance now odds of bubble shows being renewed is slimmer
People seem to either love or hate Rookie: Feds. It’s a pretty straight-forward procedural, but has the Niecy Nash vibe. Is it that Niecy is a love/hate actress? I’m genuinely intrigued here. To the people who hate it, let me know your thoughts
I thought the show had a great supporting cast. However, there’s something about Nash’s performance that turned me off and I stopped watching. I did enjoy her on Never Have I Ever, so I think it’s just her over the top acting on Rookie: Feds that I found unrealistic and annoying.
I know it’s just TV but there has to be some element of believing that Niecy Nash could be an FBI agent and she just doesn’t do it for me anytime I have watched. She doesn’t have to dress like a nun but cover up the cleavage. If someone else was in the lead role, I think the show would have worked because the supporting cast is great.
I agree with George, the supporting cast is phenomenal. It’s Niecy Nash that’s the problem. Her character is so over the top, her voice so whiny , that it’s just unwatchable. My family and I would rather skip the crossover episodes with the Rookie then deal with Nicey Nash ( we did try an episode but turned it off after 5 minutes). If they killed off her character then the show would stand a chance.
Well the show’s premise is RIDICULOUS!
To become an FBI Special Agent you must be a U.S. citizen or a citizen of the Northern Mariana Islands. You must be at least 23 years of age, but younger than 37 upon your appointment as a Special Agent. Age waivers may be granted to preference eligible veterans who have surpassed their 37th birthday.
FBI special agents have a mandatory retirement age of 57. In order to achieve the required 20 years of service for retirement, special agents must enter on duty no later than the day before their 37th birthday.
I thought The Rookie finale was the best out of the three. Good thing it was renewed for a new season huh? As for The Rookie Feds, it’s okay. If they renewed it or didn’t renew it, it wouldn’t phase me either way. I do like will Trent as well.
Best Rookie: Feds episode of the year last night. Niece Nash is the least interesting of the cast. She should not be the lead, in my opinion. The rest of the cast is superb. James Lesure is always terrific, as is Britt Robertson. Really hope it gets renewed.
I think that the chances that “Rookie: Feds” will be renewed just went south. I initially was surprised it wasn’t renewed with “Rookie”, but now the bigger picture reveals “9-1-1” going to ABC, and they need a premium place for it. I think it’s unlikely they’ll put in a lower-audience 10pm spot, and with “Dancing” coming back, probably 8-10 Mondays again, Wednesday probably retaining comedies, Thursday with “Station/Grey’s”, and Sunday needing low-cost place holding for “Idol” in the spring, I think Tuesday is the only place “9-1-1” can go. For me, this means sadly, that “Rookie: Feds” is a goner.
P.S. — I should have added: unless they put “Rookie: Feds” at 10pm on Sunday, Wednesday, or Thursday

With ABC getting 911 next season and also the Good Lawyer doesn’t look good for Big Sky and Rookie: Fed.

Nash ruins Feds plain and simple. Recast that role and try a half season in 2024 and see if it works. But as is, it is unwatchable.
They at least could’ve made the rookie feds more realistic. There is no rookie that gets to go out and do what Lacey Nash does in the show. Also, I can’t imagine that any federal person wears shirts like she does that’s very formfitting and shows a lot of cleavage that it’s just not professional.

It’s mentioned in the first line of the article that the FBIs were in rerun mode, and TVLine rarely includes those numbers.
The supporting cast of The Rookie: Feds is excellent, but Neicy Nash ruins it for me. I have liked her in other things, but this is just not a good fit. They don’t treat her like a rookie, I keep waiting for her to have a wardrobe malfunction, and every situation can not be fixed by saying “When I was guidance counselor…”. Renew it if you want, but I will still only watch if there’s a Rookie crossover.

Gotham Knights has quickly become excellent. No multiverses. Just intriguing characters, scary villains, and good storytelling.
Either take out Niecy Nash and renew Rookie Feds or cancel. She is not believable, nor does she dress appropriate for the part.
I think the Rookie Feds would be better if Niecy would dress more appropriately for her position. I feel certain the FBI would not have their agents dressed like she does. I am not a prude & do like her outfits, just not believable as an agent!
