In the latest TV ratings, CBS’ Survivor dominated Wednesday in the demo, while NBC’s birthday party for Carol Burnett easily drew the night’s biggest audience.
CBS | Survivor (with 5.1 million total viewers and a 0.7 rating, read recap and exit Q&A) dipped week-to-week, as did “bubble” drama True Lies (2.7 mil/0.2).
NBC | Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter + Love averaged 7.3 million viewers, but just a 0.4 demo rating.
THE CW | The Flash (547K/0.1, TVLine reader grade “A”) rose to its fourth-best audience of the season (read what Stephen Amell nixed about Oliver’s return), whereas Riverdale (190K/0.0) slipped to a new audience low.
FOX | The Masked Singer (3.2 mil/0.5) and Farmer Wants a Wife (2.2 mil/0.3) were both pretty steady.
ABC | The Conners (3.2 mil/0.4), The Goldbergs (2 mi/0.3) and Not Dead Yet (1.6 mi/0.3) all drew audience lows and matched demo lows. A Million Little Tear-Soaked Kleenex Things (1.7 mil/0.2, read recap), however, was steady.

The Live+Same Day numbers reported in our ratings column do not reflect a show’s overall performance, given the increased use of delayed playback via DVR and streaming platforms, plus out-of-home viewing. These numbers (Nielsen fast nationals, unless denoted as finals) instead aim to simply illustrate trends or superlatives. This is only an exhibition, this is not a competition. Please, no wagering.
I was amazed by how great Bernadette Peters still looks
No kidding huh!? Her and Helen Mirren are Benjamin Buttoning.
She does not age!!! I wish we saw more of her.
Totally agree! She looked awesome. I always liked her, too.
Carol Burnett was such a fun watch. I loved it she truly is a treasure.
Burnett birthday show was an entertaining and thoughtful presentation. I loved it. Still surprised NBC picked up this program as Miss Burnett, though having variety shows on all three legacy webs is most identified with CBS, as is Broadway which was there in force. Small quibble… Why Katy Perry for the last song?
I had the same thoughts. Of all the performers out there, why would they choose Katy Perry to sing the iconic song? How was she worthy?
I think it may have been because when they put the word out for invitee/performers, Katy personally returned the phone call in under 10 minutes. (Based on another article I read.)
A far bigger conundrum: how on Earth did Katy ever get chosen for the King Charles Coronation Concert???
LOL, even Katy is way beyond King Big Ears league. He’s a joke and he’s lucky she agreed to perform. His coronation is going to be like a bad SNL sketch, and he deserves nothing less.
I couldn’t agree more about Katy Perry on that last song? Why???? Adele or any talent rather than a no talent
The Carol Burnett special was priceless! But one question. Why no mention of Dick Van Dyke? Dick and Carol were always close and he was a regular for one year on her show after Harvey Korman left.
Great question!
I, too, thought he would be on. He was in one of the funniest sketch, the elephant one, trying not to pee his pants. At least he could have sent a televised one.
Why was Ellen at the Carol thing? We haven’t forgotten about her awful rude self.
I would trade Ellen for DVD any day! I thought for sure he’d be there, as he and Vicki are the last two regular cast members still alive, right?
It was so fun to see all of the old Hollywood stars, talent and glamor come out for Carol. She is a legend and so deserving of accolades. She is the last of the greats. Now we have average, mediocre, somewhat talented “stars” but nothing that comes close to the old guard true talent.
Loved the show. Carol Burnett has been a favorite of mine since her appearance as Buddy Hackett’s girlfriend on “Stanley.” I wonder why that show is never mentioned in any book, tv show, or article about Carol Burnett.
