In the latest TV show ratings, Fox’s SmackDown led Friday in the demo, while CBS’ Blue Bloods copped the night’s largest audience.
FOX | Friday Night SmackDown (with 2 million viewers and a 0.5 demo rating) ticked down week-to-week.
CBS | Freshly cancelled SWAT (4.6 mil/0.3) slipped to its second-smallest audience of at least the season and also dipped in the demo. Fire Country (5.1 mil/0.3) tied its smallest audience and hit a demo low. Blue Bloods (5.4 mil/0.3) drew its second-smallest audience of at least the season but held steady in the demo.
ABC | Shark Tank (3 mil/0.3) was steady.
THE CW | Penn & Teller (540K/0.1), Whose Line (430K/0.1) and The Great American Joke Off [sic] (310K/0.1) each shed some viewers.

The Live+Same Day numbers reported in our ratings column do not reflect a show’s overall performance, given the increased use of delayed playback via DVR and streaming platforms, plus out-of-home viewing. These numbers (Nielsen fast nationals, unless denoted as finals) instead aim to simply illustrate trends or superlatives. This is only an exhibition, this is not a competition. Please, no wagering.
I love Fire Country but they need to stop with the Body the hero. I get it, he’s the main character on the show but he can’t save the day every episode. It’s getting old, sorry. Fire Camp is a team, they need to spread around the focus a bit. SWAT and Blue Bloods do it well. Not every episode is focused on the same character.
So it’s the ‘Owen Strand problem’ huh, and on another fire fighter show no less lol
Unfortunately S.W.A.T has now been cancelled and rumour has it a recent episode of Ncis.La about a cold case might lead to a spin off show possibility with Michael Weatherly leading the team. Hopefully Fire country will learn more going into the second season.
I love Fire Country but in the modern age, 22 episodes for a season is overkill. With the kind of stories they tell, it’s best suited to a more confined 10-16 episode season, in my opinion. I don’t see how the show is sustainable storyline wise for multiple years at 22 episodes a season without stomping over all the ground they possibly have and repeating it. This season could’ve easily been split into two 11’s, with Bodie going over the bridge as a decent cliffhanger if positioned right. I hope they bring the episode count down so the series can last longer.
22 episodes,where?
They show one new episode and 4 reruns. So what are you talking about 22 shows?
I’m very surprised & disappointed to hear that SWAT is being cancelled! It’s a great show and the actors/characters are excellent. It’s an exciting, suspenseful cop show without all the blood and gore of so many other shows.
Please reconsider! It’s something to look forward to on a Friday night
Swat, doesn’t need to be cancelled. There are so many dumb shows on like Animal Control. That definitely should be canceled
Animal Control has grown on me. It’s gotten better and is just the dumb distraction I need from all that’s going on in the world. It’s also not a fire, medical, police or law procedural of which there are plenty.
It has to do with how expensive the show is to produce, that’s why it was cancel.
SWAT should be picked up by NBC and pair it with Magnum or by ABC and pair it with 911.
Can’t. Partly owned by Sony. That’s why CBS cancelled SWAT because of the money issue. NBC only wants things mostly from it’s own studio. Hence why abc grabbed 911
If CBS had issues with money to keep producing it than NBC and ABC definitely can not keep up with the cost.
No no no Please don’t cancel S W A T it’s a GREAT show. Why cancel the good shows and leave the bot do good onex on.. DO NOT CANCEL SWAT PLEASE
I’m glad Blue Bloods will be back.
