An American Ninja Warrior outing that was chockablock with startling stumbles drew 5.8 million total viewers and a 1.6 demo rating on Monday night, slipping 18 and 16 percent to match its season lows yet leading Labor Day on both counts.
Leading out of that, Running Wild (3.3 mil/1.0) was down 23 and 29 percent.
Over on ABC, Bachelor in Paradise (5 mil/1.5) and this season’s penultimate Mistresses (2.6 mil/0.5) each dipped a tenth. Reminder: Mistresses finale airs tonight!
Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance ticked down to new series lows: 2.4 mil and a 0.6.
Cable ratings (e.g. the RizzIsles series finale) famously come in much, much later and are reported under separate cover as warranted.
I think part of the problem was the Olympics created a 3-week gap, breaking the rhythm of the season and shoving these last few episodes out of schedule. That can easily put off viewers.
The last episode I believe came on at like 2:30am, so, it’s understandable that the ratings wouldn’t be there. I still watched it though. They have been very good this years.
